hi, i guess that makes me five!

this is my third week on mudcat, and my third weekend when it's gone down. is this the usual thing? is there another mysterious place that roving mudcatters all go each weekend?

just wondering!

Actually the Mudcat downtime is quite intentional. If it was up all the time some of us would never get any practice time in.

Having been around here for over 5 years with over 19,000 posts, I can safely say that the 'Cat has two states of being.......It's either totally focked up or it's not and about the same amount of people complain in both cases for some reason..........

What? You started Silly Season without me?!!

Good to be back... I was quite bored yesterday, but not so bored that I did any housework!

Freda: welcome to the 'Cat.

In case you haven't picked up on it...and it really isn't blazoned in big red letters anywhere...Mudcat is a labor of love by one individual (Max) who owns and operates the equipment upon which the system lives. If the system goes down, as such things are prone to do, he is the one that has to get it up and running again. If he is away at his day job or spending some time with his wife and lovely new daughter, it can be some time before he finds about it and can get to it. We have learned to cope, and there are some coping mechanisms here at Mudcat Help. This site lives on a different computer (also owned by Max), and only rarely do both go down at once.

before the cat crashes (not if but when) paste this URL in your bookmarks or favorites. Some people find their way here if the
Cat Chat is not available. http://www.folkinfo.org/chat.asp
thanks and blessings go out to Max for this wonderful service!
a labor of love!!
