Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday CarolC From: Jack the Sailor Date: 30 Dec 03 - 05:50 PM Hi Folks! On January 2nd, Carol's Birthday, I will try to comply with any reasonable request y'all may have in helping her celebrate. My plastic is happily unmaxxed and quivering in anticipation of a visit to her favourite Mexican eatery! Unfortunatly there will be no Paulie Penis Dolls. I will however, do my utmost to perform in their stead. Til then, please allow me to join y'all in wishing her a happy pre-birthday. Yours Trailerly JtS |

Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday CarolC From: Bee-dubya-ell Date: 31 Dec 03 - 01:35 AM Wait!!! I'm having a vision!!! CarolC, Crapper Queen, floating down the Chattahoochee River on the Queen's Royal Barge. (Actually, it's King khandu's Royal Barge but he has graciously agreed to loan it to Queen Carol for her birthday celebration.) The Barge is fully laden with Porta-Potties with the exception of a 20' by 20' area in its center wherein reclines the Queen herself on the Royal Divan (whatever the hell a divan is - it just sounds cooler than "sofa"). Her Majesty is being fed codfish cheeks dipped in grits - no - scratch the grits - corn allergy - okay, dip 'em in Cream of Wheat - by JTS who is dressed only in a tigerskin loincloth. Between bites Her Queenship belts out odd bits of decidedly non-polka music on her accordion, smiles and says, "Life is good. And my birthday's not for three more days." |

Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday CarolC From: Little Hawk Date: 31 Dec 03 - 01:49 AM Aha! The best new immigrant Canada has yet to acquire is celebrating her birthday. Very good. The Town of Orillia really ought to ship down a couple of those McGill's for you, but we're short of funds. The building expansions at the WSSBA have been very costly, and the brass sculpture of William Shatner's head is too large and heavy for UPS (or just about anyone) to handle. Instead, we send you our heartfelt wishes for a wonderful year! - LH |

Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday CarolC From: GUEST,Claymore Date: 31 Dec 03 - 11:02 AM Wow! I almost missed this one. (For some reason I've had a real problem getting the Mudcat site up on my computer). Many happy returns to you on your Bday. The last I heard of you, you guys were up in the cold North somewhere. I hope all is going well and that Jack makes the day the best for you. A couple of quick notes: Emily Martin is pregnant and due in Jan, as is Fritz's wife (also due in Jan). Sharon has just brought out her third CD, "Sympatico", and it is doing well. All the O'Hurleys crowd will be doing New Years with an open hearth dinner and a screening of both of the earlier Lord of the Rings movies, so that we all go on Jan 4th to catch the finale. I will pass on your good wishes. (We are all trying to go to the Cork Hammered Dulcimer Fest in June which is being run by a former student of Nick Blanton). Both Jonathan and Claude are taller than anyone except Nick. And so it goes... I truely hope all is well BTW, Bobert, give me a call at work, (304) 724-3437, when you get a date for the Meck. I'd like to come down and listen. |

Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday CarolC From: CarolC Date: 02 Jan 04 - 09:54 PM Thanks everybody! What a bunch of sweeties you are! So I had a really nice birthday. JtS took me to a great Mexican restaurant in Columbus. It was a wonderful meal with the best company (JtS). He gave me a bunch of books for my birthday presents. I know I'm going to enjoy them a lot, but I think I might be in a bit of trouble because he got me an almanac (Old Farmer's), a world atlas, and two books about noted Trotskyite painter, Frida Kahlo. (You get all that down, DougR?) ;-) And of course this thread is like frosting on my birthday cake. And the candles, too. |

Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday CarolC From: Miken Date: 02 Jan 04 - 11:58 PM Most hearty birthday greetings Carol, me fellow squeezeboxer! Was it your last birthday you came upon the Thai accordion experience? (not sure). Did my first public performance on box at a kitchen ceili in British Columbia over Christmas holidays; did three hornpipes. Hope you have a memorable celebration! |

Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday CarolC From: CarolC Date: 03 Jan 04 - 12:43 PM Thanks Mary. Hi Miken. Thanks. I checked the Thai thread, and it looks like I started that one in March. Some day I hope to have time to add some more stuff to that thread. Congratulation on your first public performance! I bet it was spectacular. |
