We abandoned them at Newcastle Airport at about 10.45 this morning and a short while later got a text message that just said "Yes" so we can only assume they had booked in and the flight was going.

They have not returned to the Globe to be under our feet!!!!

Good photos thank you Ducks.

I only got home today as I broke the journey with friends and family on the long trek South. I had a very enjoyable weekend and must apologise for blowing up,but if I am doing a song in Eminor and someone joins in in some other key at full volume I tend to NOT be very synpathetic. The Whole weekend was well worth the three hundred and something mile each way trip though.

Stumbled across the Globe,Guisbrough. I must say its great to get away, when you;ve worked all week .They servrd some grog and we had agreat snog , and went off to our van for, another fine verse,it can only get worse , there was a great "Craic" in the van after hours. Leadfigers is a spunky little dood, though he must learn to control his temper when people are trying to get close to him .Dear fellow you must not be bullied by Scots men with no Knickers on, or librarians.Despite the appauling wheather,Iwas undone,so was the bride. Its a jolly holliday with Mary. Mrs Duck, you did a wonderfull job with knocking knees, you were more nervous than Clare and I were, and thankyou for the beautifull tipsy cake. The wizzbangs that Paul and Karen brought along realy made the evening go with a bang.

Pub still in one piece.

See you again next year for our first anniversary.

By the way, we returned home via a visit to see the sea, so found ourselves at Saltburn before turning round and driving home via Guisborough. When we found ourselves passing the Globe, about four hours after leaving it, we almost called in to ask "By the way...Did you say Turn Righ or Turn Left at the end of the road..."
A very enjoyable weekend.
Many thanks.
Quack!!
Geoff.

Great Weekend. Thanks to Magician, Gillie, Tig, Badger, Col, Firecat and everyone who made it really good fun, including Mr. and Mrs. Duck and ducklings, especially my darts partner! Thanks to Fretwell for the pyrotechnics. The whizzbangs were impressive. I have never seen a rocket fly that high when not attached to a Saturn V. Great sessions throughout. Great to put names to faces.

Hope to see you all soon

Buddug

Back home safe and sound and after finding the kitchen under a pile of muck (teenagers!!!!)have opened a bottle - well we need it after all the fun of the weekend. It was great as was being given the honour of officially handfasting the happy couple as well as baking the cake. They are now well and truly duckfasted but I did use ribbon not duck tape!

Back home to sleep and recover!

A great weekend all round finishing late last night with a session which included Blues Man Roger Sutcliffe turning up. Nice to be able to put even more names to faces.

We think we ended up with about 30 catters and induced a couple to get on their computers and join when they get a second. The 'Buy a Square' on Saturday night raised £44 which I will get to Bill\Sables as soon as possible. (We couldn't find the raffle tickets so names were put in the big tankard for drawing!).

Thanks to Magician and Gillie for letting us loose in the Watering Hole for the weekend. I'm back there for a week and a bit next Saturday as they escape to Madeira for a 'honeymoon'. If you are around pop in but don't forget to sign the Mudbook.

Hic says Mrs Duck having spent all weekend imbibing of the excellent alcohol here - as we all have!

We got the pair of them handfasted and the broom jumped. They got 5 for artistic impression and about 9 for athletic style, however BOTH of them got 10 out of 10 for alcoholic content over the evening. Pictures to follow shortly.

Unfortunately anyone turning up late missed out on the handfasting ale as we drank all 18 gallons on Friday evening.

There were plenty of fireworks over the weekend but no one was seriously hurt. Thanks to the large rockets Whitby lifeboat was called out.

Several of us are still here trying to empty another barrel of beer.

So that makes it you round in Guisborough when we see you this weekend. I think I got it right this time.

Yes it was Gisburn Mrs D - and I can't think of any of the locals who have the given name Guy. However this doesn't mean that there may not be some dastardly business afoot. Fretwell may be bringing some Wizzbangs!!!!!!

See you tomorrow.

Davetnova,
Try saying Gizburra (The G is hard as in Gold), I think that should be identifiable to the locals as Guisborough!

Tig/Badger,
If you get chance before you set off (if you are not there already that is!), I would love a Mudcat badge and so would Rock Chick. We will be ariving Friday night about 9.30 ish after dropping our stuff off at the 3 Fiddles B&B.

Hi Tig, Badger, Firecat, Magician, Gilly, Snuffy and all other mudcats, 'cause I don;t know who other catters names are yet. This is my very first reply to a thread and I might be brave enough to try Mudchat later! What's more me and he-who-hasn't-got-a-mudcat-name-yet(I thought 'The Moth' might be appropriate?) will be there this weekend and I am sooooo looking forward to it!

Tyke,

Once again you fail to amaze me with your unerring ability to get things wrong, I shall not be in Runswick Bay on the event of the February Yorkshire Gathering, thus going to Guisborough does not mean you will manage to avoid me.
For those who get confused by George's ramblings, Wombat and I are holding a gathering in Milnsbridge, Huddersfield on the 13th of March, one spin off of which, is to raise funds for the Runswick Bay Rescue Boat.
Now I don't believe in thread hi-jacking so please see the relevant thread and George .............don't do that George

Not long now!

Two firkins of Sue Simpsons brand new recipe safely delivered today. Understand that as well as his excellent Cameron's Ruby Red there will be Norton Old Hookey as beer - as well as all the usual stuff.

However I was given the sad news that the bars will be CLOSED for about half an hour from just before 2.30pm so Daff and Clare can get on jumping the broom!!!

It should be a good weekend.
