Subject: BS: MINTGREEN UFO Bedazzles Remote Residents From: Amos Date: 27 Jan 04 - 12:53 AM Residents of the remote Aleutian village of Keriankian have reported a strange illusion -- or something -- rising over the dead-black sea to the south of their island. Various reports seem to agree that it was a cloud of brilliant, vibrating, oscillating, scintillating mint-green, of shifting dimensions, which rose up into the night sky from beyond the horizon and seemed to accelerate in the general direction of either Dallas or Philadelphia -- they weren't too sure. No groups, states, organizations or terrorist networks have taken responsibility for this unidentified flying cloud, but it seemed to leave everyone in its wake grinnign for reasons they could not explain. More as it happens... |
Subject: RE: BS: MINTGREEN UFO Bedazzles Remote Residents From: Kaleea Date: 27 Jan 04 - 01:09 AM Bugs Bunny, journalist for the LooneyNewsNetwork, allegedly reported to Dan Rather that in a phone conversation earlier today, Marvin the Martian stated an emphatic, "Absolutely no Martians have been sent to Earth! It was a simple weather baloon advertising for the new Wintergreen Mints." Bugs states that this was confirmed by NASA & NORAD for the President. Film at 11. Oh, no! Bugs has been assimilated! Catters--shall we believe this propaganda, or rise up & march on Washington for answers to this mystery?! |

Subject: RE: BS: MINTGREEN UFO Bedazzles Remote Residents From: Chief Chaos Date: 27 Jan 04 - 10:05 AM Used to see this sort of thing all too often. The navy would use phosphorescent die in a mist from a drop capsule to help them study wind currents. Looked like the blob on helium. It would casually drift away and disperse over time. Not saying that's what it was, but if you want a real story, Back in about '79 I was living on Bolling Air Force Base (across the Potomac from D.C. The Naval Observatory just down the road reported to the local news stations that they were observing a UFO hovering above DC. We all went outside and observed a small object hovering in the sky which seemed to be rotating. It would turn from green to white to red and back to green again. A short while later all of the TV stations went off the air (not white noise and static either but slate gray like the TV was turned off even though the power was still on). After about an hour and a half the object slowly started receeding from our vantage point. It then suddenly zoomed up into the stratosphere and disappeared. The TVs came back on. The next day my mother called the observatory to ask if they had identified the object. When asked if she was a member of the observatory she said no instead of yes and was hung up on. True story. |

But she hasn't been seen around here for some time...so I suppose this UFO wasn't her. 'COurse, things do change, don't they? Maybe she's making a trans-galactic comeback!!?? Subject: RE: BS: MINTGREEN UFO Bedazzles Remote Residents From: Little Hawk Date: 29 Jan 04 - 01:53 PM Chief Chaos - My mother and my best friend and I saw something very similar to what you describe over Washington DC. Our sighting was in the late 60's over upstate NY, about 20 miles from Syracuse. Same deal with the lights, but I had the impression that the lights themselves were cycling around the vehicle, rather than the vehicle rotating. However, it could have been the vehicle rotating, because it was absolutely symmetrical as far as I could see through a good set of binoculars. It also eventually moved away at great speed after hovering silently for about 1/2 hour. There were numerous reports in the local papers over a period of a few weeks that year with UFO sightings. I'm not aware of any official action or reaction to those events at the time...though I'm sure they had some awareness of it. There's no way they could not have. - LH |
