Subject: BS: My New Guitar! From: s6k Date: 09 Feb 04 - 04:37 AM This was DEFINATELY worth a thread all to its own on this here website. 2 days ago i acquired possession of a brand new guitar.. a Gibson Les Paul Classic, complete with 1960 engraved into the pickguard. It has the cherry sunburst colour and i cant seem to put it down. i think tonight i will sleep with it. It cost £1900, and the shop (Gough & Davy) didnt even know they had it, but they did a stock check on friday night and found it in the back, it must have been there years! So on the saturday it was straight into the shop window, and later in my sights. If i didnt get it, it would be gone by the end of the day, Brian assured me, so... i bloody bought it ! I wont even be de-excited when the bill comes for it.. nothing can stop me now, i just need a Marshall amp... So, i ask all of you, in the nicest way possible, get a god damn collection box and get it passed round, if you each put £1 together, you can buy me an amp for my birthday! or you could just all send me £10 cheques and i will buy the best possible amp with the total money. Do it now... SHOW ME THE MONEY! My Guitar! |

Subject: RE: BS: My New Guitar! From: Bobjack Date: 09 Feb 04 - 05:32 AM Gough and Davy's is a music shop in Hull, frequented by potential rock gods. |
Subject: RE: BS: My New Guitar! From: Bassic Date: 09 Feb 04 - 07:19 AM I used to work there, back when I were a lad. They used to have branches in York, Grimsby and Scarborough as well as Hull. They was`nt very good a stock control even then! |
Subject: RE: BS: My New Guitar! From: fat B****rd Date: 09 Feb 04 - 07:36 AM I used to frequent the Grimsby branch in the mid sixties. Thanks to their policy of buying one of everything you could buy obscure Soul/R'n'B singles when the British cover versions were released. Anyway I'm glad your new guitar make syou happy s6K. Thank you Bassic. |
Subject: RE: BS: My New Guitar! From: GUEST,Mr Happy Date: 09 Feb 04 - 08:02 AM Well that now makes everyone happy Goughs sold you it for £1900 making them happy You payed £1900 making you happy I sold it to Goughs for £900 last week making me happy |
Subject: RE: BS: My New Guitar! From: Willie-O Date: 09 Feb 04 - 09:26 AM How happy are you really Mr Happy? I'd be slapping myself upside the haid (again). I find the aftereffect of selling a good instrument is usually not "I can't believe I sold it!" but "I can't believe I let it go for that little...(self-slapping motion)" ( FTR I realize you are just kidding. You probably sold it to them for 400 ;)= ) W-O |
Subject: RE: BS: My New Guitar! From: s6k Date: 09 Feb 04 - 09:40 AM Potential rock gods? i AM a rock god, i am Jimi Hendrix! i didnt die, and now i am back living in the suburbs of Hull (ull), england. i decided i am now ready to make my return and tell how i faked my death and ran away to this fair city. Unfortunately though, seeing as i do live in Ull, you run a high risk of being mugged or raped... i was mugged so now i am not rich any more. also a mad scientist sapped my guitar knowledge from my brain and now i have to learn the guitar all over again. Oh yeh and he also put my brain in a new body too so you wont recognise me. There will be NO heavy metal being played on my guitar thank you... just blues! you also scare me, as you know my new bodies name :O Anyway, i am more than pleased to be ripped off by you whom sold it for 900, but remember, the other £1000 you stole off me, can go into the collection box for an amp. if you refuse i will kill you with spoons. plastic spoons. So, i have £1000 so far, i think if we can raise another £1000 and then get it in the post to me, we will have accomplished our mission. |

Subject: RE: BS: My New Guitar! From: GUEST,Nothing like Pingu Date: 09 Feb 04 - 12:22 PM s6K I think we've fooled them. Bobjack thinks I can't play guitar , so he is obviously has limited penguin knowledge. I reckon he'll contribute to the t.shirt fund soon without even knowing it. I am going to try and carve a mountain bike out of an ice floe. He will cough up before it melts. |
Subject: RE: BS: My New Guitar! From: s6k Date: 09 Feb 04 - 12:56 PM Ha ha ha ha. Penguins cannot play the guitar?? Oh come on, times have moved on buddy penguins now control 87% of the northern oceans. soon we will take over the entire earths water sup.... ENOUGH you cannot know our plans. We can play guitar. but that has nothing to do with me getting my amp... so please people... Donate Generously. Get good karma |

Subject: RE: BS: My New Guitar! From: Bobjack Date: 10 Feb 04 - 05:42 AM Both the above instruments can be markedly improved by filling them with Marmite. |
Subject: RE: BS: My New Guitar! From: GUEST Date: 10 Feb 04 - 06:20 AM Why ruin perfectly good Marmite it's expensive, and I don't believe anything you can do will improve the sound of said items. |
