Halló all , I just got 40 years old and everyone said to me
that I should feel something diffrent about my self on my birthday
witch was on the 18th of Feb. Well what is diffrent, it´s been
two day now and i just feel one thing that is diffrent about my self and that is eyes are not seeing things very well i have to look
at paper from a side and that is strange for the first time in my
life. Other than the eyes the body is working well.
Did any of you feel anything after you got 40 years old??

P.s tonight I played for a first time a song that i wrote
In last October for about full bar and that did well and
that is a great birthdaygift for me.

It's always so good to *see* you here. I think with all of the weight you've lost and how fit you've become, your 40's will feel GREAT! I didn't feel any different at 40 and like Alba, the head is willing, etc.! at 50, and THAT's my own fault.**bg**

Happy 40th Skarpi!

40 was difficult for me. 30 was great. 45 was pretty ok too. I'll be doing 50 in two years, and I have no idea how I'm going to experience that one. I think 40 was tough for me because I was in-between two stages of my life, but not entirely in either one... not completely out of the old stage, and not all the way into the next stage.

I always think it'd be good if turning 40 (or 50, or 60 for that matter) doesn't mean you are suddenly allowed to do all kind of things that were illegal when you were younger.

Well, maybe not 40. That's basically just becoming a Stage Two teenager.

I was out last night performing and when I got out I heard on the
news here In Iceland that three people had died in a car crash,
war in Tahiti, Irak soldiers falling , and all kinds of news
that we get everyday to hear so I thought well I got 40 and
the life is to short to have all those thoughts in my head so
I am gonna live my life glad ,happy and try try to have more fun in my life. I hope you will agree with on that .

Naw, the 40s haven't felt any different other than I have fewer family members than I used to. I sometimes forget that I'm not 17...oh, hold on, maybe my mind's going...

I see a lot of young people through my teenage kids and business so I know how hip I'm not, but I feel young, or at least the same as I did when I WAS young. Too bad the looks have slipped a bit.

Hey Skarpi, don't let the eyes thing bother you. There is an eye condition that arrives in many many people right around the 40 year mark. IT's NORMAL and it's OKAY!! Don't feel older than you are.

Turning 40 ain't bad!!! Just as long as you know the schedule and are prepared in advance. The main thing you need to know is that 6 days after you turn 40, your Crank will fall off unless you hold onto it all day. I was lucky and had been warned but other guys like Joe Offer watched in amazement as their manhood dropped off and rolled down a storm drain. Keep a firm grip on reality.

Nothing to worry about after that until you turn 50 and they start running a tube up your ass on a regular basis.

Happy Birthday Skarpi!!!!! I just turned 50 this past Saturday, and I can tell you that my 40s were a lot better than my 30s, and I fully expect my 50s to be better than the decade that preceded them.

The thing with the eyesight can be annoying. I got glasses in my 40s--one prescription for reading, and a different one for distance that I need when I'm driving. Now I have four pairs of glasses--two of the distance kind (clear and sunglasses)that I keep in the car, a pair of reading glasses that I keep at work, and another that I keep at home. I don't need to wear any glasses at all for most things, so bifocals won't work. I had to get different color/style frames for the different purpose glasses so I could keep them all straight. Now, if I could just remember where I put them....... *BG*

I barely noticed turning 40; I was busy being the mom of a toddler! My 40s just kept getting better, and heading into my 50s I kept waiting to feel the trauma, but it never happened.I do have a few more aches and pains now, but getting older also has its rewards.Oh, and I went from having perfect vision to needing reading glasses; I can never find them, even though I have glasses scattered all over the house. Hopefully your vision problem is "normal" too. Anyway, all the best to you and yours.
