Subject: BS: Why not sob tracks? From: Joybell Date: 07 Mar 04 - 05:47 PM We have laugh tracks on funny TV shows. (##@**%) Why are those of us who enjoy a good cry deprived of SOB tracks, so that we can cry in company? You could have audience members interjecting with cries of, "Oh! No! How awful!" For that matter where are the GASP! tracks for thrillers? Seems there is a niche market here. Just wondering, Joy |

Subject: RE: BS: Why not sob tracks? From: Peace Date: 07 Mar 04 - 06:01 PM And GROAN tracks (you filthy-minded people can stay away from that one) for those darn comedy shows like Friends and Real TV and those friggin' desert island Who Will Get Kicked Off Next programs. (I'm just riding along here. I don't have a TV. |

Subject: RE: BS: Why not sob tracks? From: Nerd Date: 07 Mar 04 - 06:07 PM And, of course, grunt tracks for when someone gits kicked in the nuts. I think this is the best idea since the sitcom, Joybell! |

Subject: RE: BS: Why not sob tracks? From: Joybell Date: 07 Mar 04 - 06:16 PM Thanks Nerd, and brucie, now we just need someone to bankroll the whole thing. Joy |

Subject: RE: BS: Why not sob tracks? From: Peace Date: 07 Mar 04 - 06:20 PM Get Little Hawk to sell the blow-up dolls. We could start there. |
Subject: RE: BS: Why not sob tracks? From: Amergin Date: 07 Mar 04 - 06:21 PM well they do have AWWWWWWW tracks for those cutsey comedy shows... |
Subject: RE: BS: Why not sob tracks? From: Peace Date: 07 Mar 04 - 06:48 PM And SNOT tracks. Ever notice that movies never have someone with a cold suckin' the snot back? They always have tissues (like real people don't use their sleeves when no one's lookin' (the inside, we're not disgusting)). Joybell, Nerd's right. This is a thought sparked by true genius. Count me in. |

Subject: RE: BS: Why not sob tracks? From: Joybell Date: 07 Mar 04 - 06:50 PM Well that's very true. Still, I think full-on sobbing and other sounds of anguish, as intrusive as the laughing on the laugh tracks, is the go. And blow-up dolls? Why not! Joy |

Subject: RE: BS: Why not sob tracks? From: Little Hawk Date: 07 Mar 04 - 07:05 PM I think sob tracks and grunt tracks are a great idea! Let's make TV even more stupid than it already is. It might boost the ratings. :-) Hiss and boo tracks could be cool too. If Spaw was posting, he'd recommend fart tracks. - LH |

Subject: RE: BS: Why not sob tracks? From: Peace Date: 07 Mar 04 - 07:12 PM The theatre of the absurd. What a contest. How to make TV stupider than it already is. Regarding the fart tracks: we could have real ones and also the kind people do by putting a hand in the armpit and swingin' the arm down. A kinda B movie sound track for producers on a limited budget. |
Subject: RE: BS: Why not sob tracks? From: Joybell Date: 07 Mar 04 - 07:54 PM I like Fart tracks! Didn't Elizabethan plays have stage directions for farts? Don't see why the audience shouldn't join in. Good enough for Shakespeare, good enough for TV! |
Subject: RE: BS: Why not sob tracks? From: Little Hawk Date: 07 Mar 04 - 09:04 PM It's a flaming good idea. I'm gonna call up William Shatner about this right away. |
Subject: RE: BS: Why not sob tracks? From: Peace Date: 07 Mar 04 - 10:12 PM THE WILLIAM SHATNER? Swoon. |
Subject: RE: BS: Why not sob tracks? From: Joybell Date: 08 Mar 04 - 04:52 PM Oh! YES! Then we could have William Shatner meaningful silence tracks! I'd like that a lot. Joy |

Subject: RE: BS: Why not sob tracks? From: GUEST,leeneia Date: 09 Mar 04 - 12:19 AM What about tracks of pregnant pauses and stunned silence? They would be cheap to produce, so the return on investment would be maximized. |
Subject: RE: BS: Why not sob tracks? From: Peace Date: 09 Mar 04 - 12:20 AM But who would get the pauses, you know? |
Subject: RE: BS: Why not sob tracks? From: Sorcha Date: 09 Mar 04 - 01:02 AM Me. I'm good at pauses. |
Subject: RE: BS: Why not sob tracks? From: Peace Date: 09 Mar 04 - 01:14 AM OK, Sorcha will get the pauses pregnant. Now, who will get the silence, you know? |
Subject: RE: BS: Why not sob tracks? From: Nerd Date: 09 Mar 04 - 02:04 AM I'll slap around the silences til they're stunned. |
Subject: RE: BS: Why not sob tracks? From: Amergin Date: 09 Mar 04 - 02:12 AM But do the pauses WANT to be pregnant? Remember it should be a mutual choice...are they ready for it? |
Subject: RE: BS: Why not sob tracks? From: Amos Date: 09 Mar 04 - 10:33 AM And you'll have to reassure us with a little sticker that says "No actual silences were stunned in the production of this sound track". A |

Subject: RE: BS: Why not sob tracks? From: GUEST,MMario Date: 09 Mar 04 - 04:31 PM I'm confused. Why should SOB's get their own tracks? There are enough SOB's involved in sports now as it is. "Sprortsmanship" as a value seems to have gone by the board. |
Subject: RE: BS: Why not sob tracks? From: GUEST,leeneia Date: 09 Mar 04 - 09:05 PM Amos, I loved your joke about "no actual silences were stunned..." How do you get italics to show up on a post? |
Subject: RE: BS: Why not sob tracks? From: Joybell Date: 09 Mar 04 - 09:19 PM I've never mastered italics either leeneia. There is advice on how to do it but I gave up. Sorcha, when we form our company you can do the doggy pawses. Joy |

Subject: RE: BS: Why not sob tracks? From: MMario Date: 09 Mar 04 - 09:45 PM leenia - use "view source" on his message and you will see exactly how he was able to use italics. |
Subject: RE: BS: Why not sob tracks? From: Amergin Date: 09 Mar 04 - 10:42 PM Leenia italics are: then the quote here when done with the , you put the quote between the two sets of brackets. |

Subject: RE: BS: Why not sob tracks? From: JennyO Date: 10 Mar 04 - 07:41 AM Like this little bit here This is one of the few bits of HTML I know how to do. Here is a helpful site HTML help |
Subject: RE: BS: Why not sob tracks? From: Nerd Date: 10 Mar 04 - 03:20 PM You type a left pointing carat (<) then an I, then a right carat (>), with no spaces between them, before the italic passage, then a left carat (<) slash (/) I right carat (>) after the italic passage. |
Subject: RE: BS: Why not sob tracks? From: Amergin Date: 10 Mar 04 - 03:53 PM i tried it in my post with a space between them...and it didn't show right...i seem to remember being able to deomsntrate how to do it that way before... |
