Subject: Songs that work well unintentionally From: steve in ottawa Date: 15 Mar 04 - 11:19 PM The "worst songs" thread got me to thinking about the theme from Batman. But the more I thought about that song (to which, I'm proud to say, I know ALL the words), the more I got to thinking: you know, the Batman theme is supposed to be campy, but it WORKS for me. I've heard that "Suicide" from MASH was supposed to be comically bad as well...something about asking someone's teenage son to write some deliberately amateurish lyrics? (can anyone confirm?) Can anyone else come up with examples of songs that work despite their author's intentions to dash off a wee bit of tripe? |

Subject: RE: Songs that work well unintentionally From: Dave Hanson Date: 16 Mar 04 - 06:30 AM The theme from Mash was about the resident dentist who was nicknamed ' Painless ' so I think it was deliberate and not 'knocked up ' by some kid. eric |
