Subject: RE: Lyr Req: daddy what did you do in the strike From: Dave Sutherland Date: 28 Mar 04 - 01:44 PM In all the recent features regarding the 20th anniversary of The Miners Strike that I have seen sympathy has been overwhelmingly with the miners. "Daddy did you stay out through the strike, Did you stand beside your workmates through the fight, Or did you show your yellow belly, spill your guts there on the telly, And let the bosses fill you full of shite?" Indeed. |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: daddy what did you do in the strike From: GUEST,ross stanton Date: 28 Mar 04 - 04:26 PM i have witnessed police officers "bragging" about how arthur scargill helped pay off their mortgages or paid for their extension, some even wore badges proclaiming this whilst on duty during the picketing, this type of goading is enough to make any man crack the result being that at the time rags like the sun only reported things like,"rampaging miners attack police" and public support was with the government, but now the truth has been told the public are very sympathetic to the striking miners cause. |
