David Tomlinson has just finished a new Steeleye Span fanzine, "The Tune and the Tale". See http://www.informatik.uni-hamburg.de/~zierke/steeleye.span/fanzine.html

Thanks in anticipation, and thanks for your persistence in trying to get hold of me! Been away all weekend at Linlithgow Folk festival, only just back on the net tonight.
Swa Steeleye in Edinburgh in "Kidnapped" in 1972, and the big concert at Sidmouth this year: still a great band!

Don't know about buying the 'first' one, but might buy the 'last one'...

I have an original copy of "The Song and the Story" which I believe is the first Steeleye fanzine. Anyone want it? "Notes by David Tomlinson - Illustrations by Audrey Sanderson; Volume I", with articles on Cam Ye O'er Frae France, The Blackleg Miner, etc, etc.

I'm in the UK and postage won't be too much - probably about 42p. So put something in a charity box and we'll call it quits.

e-mail me at "okay" at "lombardy" dot "clara" dot "net" or PM me if you fancy it.

In the event of a clamour, I'll award it to the most eloquent/amusing/irrelevant submission purely on my own whim. Can't say fairer than that. Not with a mouthful of dry crackers you can't.

Cheers

Hamish
