Well, amen to that song! I'm a smoker and proud! Well, not so much proud as defiant :) I figure i'm probably going to die some tragic and untimely death before lung cancer gets a look in anyway...What can i say, it's the ever popular tortured artist syndrome....

Death wasn't the worst fate Hamish was threatened with (although the fags probably contributed in the end). He tried to give up smoking in his last year because he'd been told he was losing his voice, and if you listen to his late recordings you realise that wasn't totally unfounded! Anyway, chacun a son gout, as the saying goes ...

My singing voice is fairly abysmal anyway. Funny enough, i think it's worse when i haven't smoked for a while... i sound like an adolescent boy!
