...fair campaigns.

For those of you who are old enough to remember, here we go again. For those of you who do not have useful consciousness of the 1972 election, avail yourselves of some newspapers and history books. A campaign should be run on a camparison of ideas, reason, and records, and not on subjugation or out and out smashing of fair rules of engagement and process. Republicans demonstrate the bankruptcy of their programs by doing just that. It is up to the people to say, "In your face, Repubs!"

Shaes of Nixon and his CREEP/Watergate burglars scandal. An excerpt:

Thieves shattered a side window overnight at Lucas County Democratic headquarters in Toledo, stealing computers with sensitive campaign information and triggering concern of the local party's ability to deliver crucial votes on Nov. 2.
Among the data on the stolen computer of the party's office manager were: e-mails discussing campaign strategy, candidates' schedules, financial information, and phone numbers of party members, candidates, donors, and volunteers.

Also taken were computers belonging to Lucas County Commissioner Tina Skeldon Wozniak and to a Texas attorney working with the Kerry/Edwards presidential campaign to ensure election security.

The thefts have prompted the Kerry/Edwards campaign and Democrats in Washington to offer help and have left local officials fretting about the crime's impact on the upcoming election, in which Ohio plays a high-profile role.

I hope they had backups.

Did you hear about the bogus "get out the vote" campaign in Nevada, where an organization collected voter registrations, then destroyed the democratic applications? The company says the claims were by a "disgruntled employee" and he has been fired. One wonders when the firing happened--before the registration, or after he reported it?

The RNC claims to have a "zero tolerance" policy toward this (as long as you don't get caught, there are zero cases to worry about).

Oregon has had instances of Repubs destroying Dem registrations, and so have a few other locales. Has anyone heard ANY news reports about these issues on the "liberal" media? How about Sinclair or Fox? Seems to me that this is QUITE newsworthy.

There was also the great hypocrisy in the News lately: The Republicans are claiming that the Democrats are breaking the law in Florida by co-ordinating campaign activities with those of 527 organizations like Move On. Their evidence? A Democratic campaign handbook that they somehow managed to steal!

I seem to recall the Democratic stategy in Colorado being released to claim harrassment and voter disenfranchisement even where nono existed.   Basically, be proactive and claim that republicans won't allow minorities to vote even if there if it does not exist.   You can read it on the Druge Report if you don't believe it.

I seem to also recall a number of republican HQ being shot at by democats, or ransacked by democrats, or mobbs invading the HQ.   You can tell they democats were the ones firing the guns, because they did not hit anyone. (from Ann Coulter)

"Basically, be proactive and claim that republicans won't allow minorities to vote even if there if it does not exist.   You can read it on the Druge Report if you don't believe it."

I notice you use the word "basically". I would say that they said literally to speak up against probable election fraud. I would they were warning their workers to expect it and be proactive. They never actually said to make anything up. I believe Larry K, that you have just engaged in unfounded inuendo.

"I seem to also recall a number of republican HQ being shot at by democats, or ransacked by democrats, or mobbs invading the HQ.   You can tell they democats were the ones firing the guns, because they did not hit anyone. (from Ann Coulter)"

Larry you won't be offened If I ignore this hysterical B.S. will you? If George Bush and John Kerry both were going to take a shot at me I'd be a lot more afraid of Kerry. So she is dead wrong on both counts.

"I seem to recall" is a lazy way of avoiding checking the facts - checks which are a lot easier these days than they ever havr been before. When we pass on a potentially damaging rumour without checking it, that just means we don't want to risk finding out it's a lie.

It's a sort of cowardly way of lying without lying. Which I suppose is very much in keeping with that kind of campaign.
