Subject: BS: you;re a keeper... From: tarheel Date: 26 Nov 04 - 01:02 PM This is so appropiate...while we have family around....tarheel One day someone's husband died, and on that clear, cold morning, in the warmth of their bedroom, the wife was struck with the pain of learning that sometimes there isn't any more. No more hugs, no more special moments to celebrate together, no more phone calls just to chat, no more "just one minute." Sometimes, what we care about the most gets all used up and goes away . . never to return before we can say goodbye or say "I love you." So while we have it . . . it's best we love it . . . and care for it . . . and fix it when it's broken . and heal it when it's sick. This is true for marriage . . and old cars . . . and children with bad report cards . . . and dogs with bad hips and aging parents and grandparents. We keep them because they are worth it, because we are worth it. Some things we keep -- like a best friend who moved away or a classmate we grew up with. There are just some things that make us happy, no matter what. Life is important, like people we know who are special . . .and so, we keep them close! I received this from someone who thought I was a 'keeper'! Then I sent it to the people I think of in the same way. Now it's your turn to send this to all those people who are "keepers" in your life. Thank you for being a special part of my life! You're a Keeper! |

Subject: RE: BS: you;re a keeper... From: Amos Date: 26 Nov 04 - 04:52 PM It is interesting, Chuck, that I have always felt that way about the special people I meet, and although I haven't managed to keep them all, I do have to say that a remarkable large number of them are the souls I met here at the 'Cat. Subject: RE: BS: you;re a keeper... From: Gypsy Date: 26 Nov 04 - 10:50 PM Never miss the opportunity to mend a quarrel, to say 'i love you' or to spend time with one you love. We spent the last day of my father-in-laws life with him, going to the Botanical Garden. It was a crappy day, i had a headache, and neither of us wanted to go. But HE did, so we all went. the next day he was killed in a head on collision with a car heading north in a southbound lane on the highway. Follow your instincts! I am VERY grateful that we did. |

Subject: RE: BS: you;re a keeper... From: Gypsy Date: 28 Nov 04 - 09:11 PM I know, it sounds like one of those internet things. but it really happened. The first time around for me, was calling my mother, and chatting. Meant to talk with her lover, as well, but ran out of time, was tired, all that stuff. He died that night. Forever after that, i followed my instincts. very glad i did in the case of my father in law. |
