Subject: BS: Query for Spanish speakers From: Arnie Date: 29 Nov 04 - 04:11 PM I'm re-learning Spanish at the moment for an exam. Reading Spanish mags, I notice that the US is shown as EE.UU in Spanish - well it's called Estados Unidos, but that should be EU - anyone know why it's two E's and two U's?? Perhaps it's a case of 'so good they named it twice?' Anyway, it's been puzzling me for a few days so any realistic suggestion would be more than welcome. Mil gracias Arnie |

Subject: RE: BS: Query for Spanish speakers From: Mr Red Date: 29 Nov 04 - 04:30 PM related request. If any Hispanophones would like to eyeball my FAQ page at FAQ's de Sr. Rojo and tell me if what is said makes sense and not unseemly (out of ignorance) I would be grateful. TIA |
