Hello, this is not a rasist thread, and i,m not rascist.
its about that tv show, called "famous people in the jungle",
and none of them are even famous exept that woman with the big mouth, and that man with the sqeeky voice, i never even heard of the rest of them.
i dont knoew whty they put this shit on telly, and why peeople watch it, i saw 5 minutes of it, but they switched the sound off, it seaid "sound is off for legal reasons".
and the subtitles have busted on my telly.

I'm waiting for the reality show where they stick a bunch of losers from "The Apprentice" on a boat on the ocean for a couple of months, with no food. Whoever doesn't get eaten gets rescued. Then, they could have the semifinals and finals. There's also the show where they throw a bunch of unarmed people in an arena with a few really hungry lions, but I think that's been done before. (Not on TV though.)

I caught 'Monkey Dust' the other week - surreal, animated weirdness .. couldn't quite get it .. although the funniest bit was the skit about:

"Z-List celebrities are breeding down in the sewers faster than food supplies can maintain ... pest-extermination workers need to get down there to deal with them ...'' ..

The survivor shows aren't true survival for a variety of reasons:

1. It's a contrived situation. Drop 'em naked somewhere in Nunavut , perhaps in a park in the late Spring, and film anyone who makes it out alive.

2. In a true survival situation, you don't "vote people off the island." Everybody pitches in, for survival is a group effort.

3. Let one of them get seriously ill and watch how fast they're "rescued." Lawsuits are part of the reality of reality shows.

4. How come everyone is young and beautiful? Don't old ugly fat people survive?

5. In a real survival situation, your survival is your reward, not money.

It's not Jungle!!!

It's just a little bit of Aussie sub-tropical rain-forest (not even REAL Tropical Rain-forest!), chosen because it's not far out of a small town (with a decent road to get all the heavy equipment in and out!) in coastal NSW. In fact normal Aussies regularly go bush-walking though such terrain for fun and relaxation....

Now for REAL jungle, they should have gone to North Queensland, or maybe even the Northern Territory.

There's bits up there in the NT that the Japanese are alleged to have dropped a bunch of paratroopers or SEAL-type guys during WWII in amongst the crocodiles, and they were never heard of again.... in fact the Allies didn't even know that the Japs had done it, and they thought we had caught them, and wanted them back...

1. Parts of Australia, as you mentioned.
2. Gates of the Arctic.
3. Wrangell-Mt. St. Elias area.
4. Queen Maude's Land in July.
5. Northern areas of Greenland.
6. Anywhere in the back-country taiga.
7. Lolo Wilderness, right here in Idaho.
8. The Gobi.
9. Certain areas of coastal Siberia.
10. Certain areas of New Guinea.

Or any of my local stores during this, the Christmas shopping season....
