The quality of ones posts would be more difficult - and in the eye of the beholder. My guess is that as the quanity goes up - the quality goes down. Thats just my opinion. |

Are ten 10-word posts "worth" ten times as much as one 100-word post? Depending upon the thread, a quick pithy little quip might be an excellent contribution. Depending upon the individual and his/her expertise on a given topic, a long essay could be either greatly enlightening or a lot of white noise. Measuring the sheer number of posts will tell us who: ~ has the most to share with us, or ~ has no (other) life, or ~ is *seriously* malingering at work. |

Amos & kat may be close in number of posts, but kat's been at it a year longer, making Amos' rate quite a bit higher. There have also been members who posted at a very high rate for a time but then tapered off & in some cases left. Four years ago very high rates went to people who had only been active for a month or 2. |

Those who've been around here long would have more posts even though they hadn't posted as frequently as some newer members who are submitting messages more often, i.e. at a higher rate of interest, say, 7.75%, compounded daily, but certainly not keeping pace with service charges unless a higher minimum balance is maintained to avoid the basic corn-holing of the customer who can least afford the institution's dipping into their funds every month for their board-sanctioned extortion and... As for daily records, the highest I have seen was from Amos with 63 posts on the 29th of February, 2000. The shooting star may be Sorcha with 23 postings on her very first Mudcat day (which a bit later initiated the rumour she actually was katlaughing using a second handle). Wolfgang |
