There may be timing errors in the ABC when a note is tied into the next measure. Subject: RE: MUS ADD: Linden Lea From: Joe Offer Date: 22 Nov 98 - 01:41 AM Hmmm. One song, two threads, one day. How come, Barbara? Is there logic in separating the lyrics from the tune? -Joe Offer- |
Subject: RE: MUS ADD: Linden Lea From: Barbara Date: 22 Nov 98 - 01:49 AM Guess there wasn't any particular logic to it Joe. Thought I'd noticed others doing it. Only advantage I could see is that those guys what put together the database will know from headers that there are both tune and words here. But Joe, if you want to put them back together, it's okay with me. Blessings, Barbara |
Subject: Posting Tunes & Lyrics From: Joe Offer Date: 22 Nov 98 - 02:13 AM I'm on the road, Barbara, using my sister's wimpy Mac, so I ain't got no cookies and can't fix it. I think that a misconception developed from a comment Dick made, and people took things to extremes. Then other people saw what had been done, figured that they should do it too, and it became a trend. Soon, the proliferation of extraneous threads may become an epidemic. Basically, the rule that seems to work best is this: one song, one thread. If a song was requested a month ago, it's best to resurrect the request thread and post the lyrics there, and the tune in the same place. The exception would be if the original thread had a title that did not relate to the song. -Joe Offer- |
