To be precise, Pauline, you said that Peat Bog Soldiers was a song "of" Jewish prisoners. Susanne was correct to point out that this was not so, although it became an important song for many people who suffered under Nazism. I used to associate the song specifically with Jewish prisoners until I read more about it on the Mudcat.

I am so pleased to hear that there is a CD of Paul Robeson singing over the phone link at the Porthcawl Miners' Eistedfodd. I can finally get one to replace the LP I dropped and broke at my mothers house many, many years ago!
