I'm heading to Milan on the 26th of March for the Scotland v Italy game, however I'm going to need to do a bit of busking to cover my costs. Being a Scotland fan I will obviously be playing the bagpipes. Has anyone here been busking in Milan and what advice could you give me. I know all the basics as I've been to Paris and Liverpool playing recently. Any specific information and tips would be much appreciated.

Cheers
   Callum

Piazza del Duomo is big and it is easy to find. You will by now be used to the fact that not everyone likes the bagpipes, so get in a pitch before the Old Bill turn up. Always be friendly and polite to them and you shouldn't get into too much trouble. It should be warmer in Italy at that time of year than it would be in Scotland, so you could well get an edge and pick up a few Euros. If you can't get a pitch in Milan, Como is about an hour away by train. I did some good pitches in the early evening there. The people are more likely to take a stroll at that time than they are in the middle of the day. Good luck and have fun.
Alan.

The police are OK, but don't try and argue with the Carabinieri, the buggers with the red stripe down the side of their trousers, I did, and it cost me dear.
Giok

Cheers for the advice guys. Yeah you're right about the police, just be all apologetic to them and they're normally fine, even if you do get moved on. Will watch out for the red stripey guys and hopefully I should be ok.

Thanks
    Callum
