She does this by lying to the public and doing whatever the Neo Cons want her to do. I think you have confused the terms Uncle Tom and Aunt Jemima with token Negro. I'm waiting for Donuel to go out on a limb and compose a picture of Condi hanging her head and muttering, "Yes, Massah," while little children get blown to bits in the background. I feel more revulsion for her than I would a white man in the same position. She should know better! Not often do Black women achieve a position of power. Being highly intelligent is a gift and a responsibility. She seems to have forgotten the responsible part of the equation. In other words, she has used her power in the same way it was used against her ancestors. She has no shame. Ebbie - I don't expect White folks to understand how Women of Colour think but don't call me a racist just because you're confused. Thats plain ignorant, Honky talkin', from my point of view. Calling Dr. Rice (whom I don't like or trust) an Aunt Jemima or an Auntie Tom or a token Negro is an uncalled-for insult, imo. She has a better education and job history than most of the people on this forum and is well qualified, on that basis, for the job she holds. As far as I'm concerned, one can call her insensitive, in love with her boss, even stupid and ignorant, but I don't think that we have any evidence that she got where she is because she is black. For that matter, I see no reason why a person of color cannot be a racist. I suspect we have all known people - Europeans and Asians, in my experience - who are very bigoted against certain other colors and nationalities. |
