Subject: RE: BS: Papability & Betting Odds From: GUEST Date: 04 Apr 05 - 07:23 PM The Italians say a thin pope is always followed by a fat pope, so I don't think it will be anyone from the John Paul doctrinal school. I do think there is a good chance the next pope will be much older than JP was (he was in his late 50s I think), and fairly moderate, so "transitional" in that way. |
Subject: RE: BS: Papability & Betting Odds From: Bee-dubya-ell Date: 04 Apr 05 - 08:29 PM Dunno, but here's what I think of anyone who starts a thread with nothing but "Click - Discuss". CLICK Discuss |
Subject: RE: BS: Papability & Betting Odds From: Bobert Date: 04 Apr 05 - 08:57 PM Well, yeah... the click-discuss knda turned me off as well but, hey, since we're prolly gonna be stuck with the next pope until we are older and grayer, I was thinkin' someone like, ahhhh, Bruce Springstein for pope... Yeah, I think he would make a cool pope... And when he went on tour, man, geeze-o-pete, it would be one heck of a tour! And as fir womenz issues he;s prolly be better than anyone on that list in the link... Yeah, I like it... ...the Boss for pope!!! Bobert |
Subject: RE: BS: Papability & Betting Odds From: GUEST Date: 04 Apr 05 - 09:03 PM Considered therapy for those latent hostilities there, bde? |
Subject: RE: BS: Papability & Betting Odds From: Bunnahabhain Date: 04 Apr 05 - 11:06 PM Any canidate who would lift the ban on condoms would be good. A simple way to help prevent millions of deaths. Plus, if the GUEST doesn't know BWLs proper abberviation, then they're probably a real guest, not one of the regulars stirring... Bunnahabhain. |
Subject: RE: BS: Papability & Betting Odds From: GUEST,amergin Date: 04 Apr 05 - 11:19 PM Well if those millions were smart enough to use those condoms....it would most likely save them...but i doubt the intelligence of anyone who let's their life to be ruled by some fat cat in some far off throne. |
Subject: RE: BS: Papability & Betting Odds From: RangerSteve Date: 05 Apr 05 - 09:07 PM Any male who is baptized Roman Catholic is eligible. I'll convert, and gladly take the position. Here's what I'll offer: Birth control will be okay. No more realistic crucifixes in church. They're too scary looking. Priests and nuns can get married. The brutality that they show towards students in Catholic school comes from the fact that they ain't gittin' any (if you know what I mean) Of course, that's my own opinion. And there may be a lot less child molestation. No more of those ungainly priest outfits. A clean shirt and pants and a tie are good enough for conducting mass. Jeans and a tee shirt are ok for other times. (can you imagine what it's like going to the bathroom in on of those pope outfits? Geez, talk about impractical). Molest a kid and go to jail. No arguments. No plea bargains. I'll turn you over to the cops myself. And when you get out of jail, you'll go to the Vatican Jail, that I'll build, and stay there forever. In solitary. An hour each night of Old-Time Country and Bluegrass gospel music on the Vatican radio station. I'll even have resident country music bands at the Vatican. Free access to the public to the Vatican library, to squash or confirm all the nasty rumors. I'll think of more stuff later. |
