Subject: RE: Wallace & Grommit From: Liz the Squeak Date: 29 Apr 05 - 05:57 AM Chicken Runs? isn't that what you get after a dodgy chicken biryani? If the plot of Chicken Run was weak, blame the person who wrote 'The Great Escape' ~ it is the same film but with chickens and a plane instead of McQueens' motorbike (GE trivia - it was McQueens' own motorbike, and was a British Triumph, painted to look like a BMW which the German Army rode. He would never have been able to do the jump if he were riding the BMW, it's too heavy and unstable). I'm going to have to put it on and watch it now..... love that knitting chicken! LTS |

Subject: RE: Wallace & Grommit From: GUEST,Jack the Sailor Date: 28 Apr 05 - 10:44 PM I've seen that DVD, a friend from England owns it. Excelent! Chicken Runs was OK. The plot was weak but the scene where the chicken is in "solitary" bouncing the ball like Steve McQueen, is very very funny!! |

Subject: RE: Wallace & Grommit From: GUEST Date: 28 Apr 05 - 03:44 PM USA ....the three Claymation vignettes are near perfect. Obsessive attention to detail, great character and plot development ... mystery ... intrigue ... inventive Rube Goldberg gadgetry that appeals to young and old ...Nick Park is an artistic genius. |
Subject: RE: Wallace & Grommit From: Stilly River Sage Date: 28 Apr 05 - 03:33 PM Wallace and Grommitt are wonderful, in all of their episodes. We thought Chicken Run was pretty good, too (especially if you've just watched Stalag 17 or The Great Escape). Our household is in the US. SRS |

Subject: Wallace & Grommit From: GUEST Date: 28 Apr 05 - 02:55 PM Yesterday, I picked up the three Wallace & Grommit shorts on a DVD. I have than on VHS, but was glad to get the DVD, with all the other features involved. It was real cheap, and it made me wonder how many people know (and love) wallace and Grommit. I would at least hopt that they are more popular in England than they are in the Untied States. And fans around? Chicken Run was a real dissapointment to me, but that's how people know Aardvark productions over here.. Jerry |
