Just an unashamed reminder that we will be singing at the Fox and Hounds, Bridestowe,Devon this weekend. We start on Friday when there's enough people there to start, again on Saturday lunchtime and evening, with a survivors session on Sunday, all in a separate singing room. There is an excellent campsite, hotel rooms, and bunk house covering virtually every type of accommodation you want, an Irish landlord who loves having us there, excellent beer and good home cooked food.   If you want a really laid back weekend, on Dartmoor with some very good singing and no pressure, we'll see you there. pm me for directions.

So, Cats, what happened to the sing on top of the tor? I know several people who are up for it on Sunday morning, and know Jack and Zak will be happy to guide the way - but not, of course, actually sing. I'm really looking forward to the ultimate relaxed weekend - see you on Friday.

.....And if you want to go and sing on the top of the Tor at the back of the pub at some hour in the morning when I'm usually fast asleep, you can. It's one of those things that 'seems like a good idea, so let's go and do it' that happen at the Fox and Hounds. It was a good idea last year and it worked! How many singing weekends are there that have a session on top of a tor??? Looking forward to seeing you all on Friday.   One request that has come in from various people is 'is there going to be a visit to look at the new house', so, there just might be!   if it seems like a good idea at the time.

We'll be there and bringing a couple of new faces with us this year!!!!! Polly I'm up for singing on top of the Tor, Looking forward to being able to walk there - must have walked about 20 miles Mon, Tue & Weds this week, round your stamping ground and the knee's holding out, perhaps I'll go for the 10 tors next year........................................................................................Perhaps I'd rather be at Fox & Hounds!!!

We're going to go down this weekend coming to meet the prospective donkey's... there's one called Beamish (after the beer) that could be a contender and a mother and daughter couple that can't be separated or there's just been a baby born.... For those of you who don't understand, this years profits have been split between the Dartmoor Rescue team and adopting a donkey at the centre in the Tamar Valley. As soon as we have met the donkeys we'll post to this thread. Thanks for all your support this weekend. Brilliant friendship, brilliant singing.

Excellent weekend. Plenty of good singing, nice atmosphere & very nice people in a lovely part of the country. I enjoyed it very much ~ despite the strong winds.
Walk to the Tor on Sunday ~ refreshing! Hawker's lovely song & Snuffy's Lark in the Clear Air ~ memorable. Next year's walk suggested at a later time, so more can join in to sing & enjoy the spectacular views :-)

A superb weekend with lots of wonderful people, great singing and great songs.

The pre-breakfast walk to the tor was certainly "refreshing", but I'll go along with the suggestion of a 10.am start next year. (Still don't know how I got conned into it) :-)

Great weekend Kathy,
The walk to the tor was bracing to say the least, The singing at the 'top',though partially lost on the 'breeze' was wonderful and the 2 Hawker duet will take some beating!!!!! OOoooowwlwll! The Lark in the Clear air was sung to a Lark in the clear air, my daughter Amber took pictures to prove it, and was brilliantly sung by Snufy. I agree to a later start time, it would be far more humane! Nice to meet more catters, and I loved that little 'aide memoire' Abuwood. Good to meet Martin from Barton, and wonderful to catch up with old friends not seen since last season! Thanks Kathy & Jon for arranging it, we have to have a 'donkey songs' session at next years do Suggestions.......
The Vicar of Bray? Riding on a donkey, are obvious onces..... and I think the handfasting confirmation would be fantastic.
Hope the awning is salvagable! That wind on Friday night was amazing!

Brilliant news about the converts. We had two others as well. They came for a quiet lunchtime drink on Saturday, enjoyed the singing so much that they stayed all afternoon and part of the evening. We must be getting something right!
