Hi folks, thanks to all of you for the tremendous amount of heartfelt support for Justine & me. Justine tried to keep me updated on the posts as best she could. I on the other hand was so dopey, sleepy, weak & completely out of it, I really didn't get a good solid chance to read & take in all those posts up until recently. The transplant team tells me that they're pleased with how the new liver took right to me, we're fast friends now. I had no clew that the 2nd transplant didn't take & after 7 comatose days received a 3rd, what a killer, eh. I guess that 3rd time round is a charm though. What a roller coaster ride. Thanks for seeing me through it.
I'm home now & I'm able to get around a good bit better, though negoacating the stairs is still a challenge. My voice has taken a beaten but it's slowly improving as am the rest of me. Things are going & looking so well (at least for the near future) that Justine & I are dead set on making it to the Getaway this year.


I'm fading fast so I'm gonna go & get some rest. Again, I can't thank you guys enough for all your support & seeing me through this, love you all & hope to see & hear you at the Getaway.

I don't know if there are any traditional liver-replacement chanteys, but I suppose that any chantey that gets your lungs working with lots of air will serve for recuperative purposes. I had my own dealings with hospitals. Was off a week in the local hospital due to a stroke. Lucky it was a very minor stroke. So I am really able to commiserate!

Me, away from the music for nearly a week! Ugh!

Glad to hear you're finally home from vacation. Now that you've got your suitcase unpacked, it's time to do your laundry. You probably noticed when you were getting out of the car that the blacktop needs resurfacing. Nothing that needs your immediate attention, sometime next week will be fine. But the grass needs mowing right away and the hedge looks really overgrown. One last thing, that hornets' nest in the den is really active. Hey, you can borrow my organic insecticide. Doesn't really kill the things, just sort of slows them down so you can catch them by the wings and repatriate them to the great outdoors. Welcome home friend!
