Subject: wrigleys broken token From: Scotus Date: 16 Sep 05 - 09:47 AM Hi out there, Does anyone remember a TV commercial from the 1990s which featured a couple on a greyhound bus? The guy, after some soul-searching, tears his last piece of chewing gum (wrapper and all) in half and gives half to a pretty girl. He gets off and ruefully looks back at her still on the stationary bus. He goes into a diner and sits looking at his half of the wrapper, when a hand appears over his shoulder and matches the torn off edge of his wrapper to the other one. YES!! it's her! I was doing my MBA at Heriot-Watt Uni in Edinburgh at the time and our marketing lecturer was a TV commercial fanatic. He was also a folkie, but his take on the commercial was as an 'in-joke' for film buffs, because all the backgrounds were scenes from famous movies - he hadn't got the broken-token allusion. The thing is - I'd love to find that commercial again but can't find it on the internet. Does anyone have any suggestions? Jack |
