It has come to my attention that virtually every thread posted on Mudcat in the last 2 years dealing with very real anti-Israel/anti-Jewish/anti-semetic discussions of accusing or presenting articles of the far-left's support of these topics has been closed by Mudcat, never to be re-opened.

Why is that? Is it just the bad press calling out the far-left on their anti-Israel/Pro palestinian/Arab support on a far-left web site?

The Jewish press is starting to figure it out more and more, it seems.

It has to do with whether the discussion is civil or not, Martin. So far, you haven't learned the protocols of civil discussion. Keep working on it. Maybe you'll learn.
If you call people names and make demeaning sexual remarks about them, that's not considered intelligent or civil discussion. Stick to the subject of the discussion and don't make personal attacks, and maybe I won't have to delete most of your posts. As it is now, you go on 100 percent review every time I receive a complaint about you, and the review continues until you settle down.

Post to the newsgroups or Stormfront or any of several dozen other places....that I do.

Sure, like you, I've had MANY (perhaps 100 or more) postings removed. Some may have been personal-attacks, some may have irritated the Irish, some perhaps bumped a hooked-nose or two, many were wicked things about Wiccans....but they ALL should, (and were) removed.

A small group of friends created their own "sym-world" here. They pay the bills. If you want to play with their toys you need to play by their rules.

The MC/DT has lasted far, far longer than 98% of the the websites from a decade ago. Routine maintenance - and some vigilent clones have kept it from spinning off the axis.

Since the world has become "net-savvy"... trolling, especialy The MC.... since the instructions, descriptions, recognition of trolls has been broadcast...it is not ANYWHERE near the FUN it used to be to be a TROLL...without the "pay-off" it is not worth the bother. BTW Martin, have you noticed this isn't deleted or closed. It is because it doesn't contain personal attacks. The subject of whether something is anti semitic, or have anti semitic underpinnings is a legitimate discussion. But should you slip into the gratuitous vulgarity, then you will be bleeped.

I can speak to this statement. I took a double dose of hiatus once in 1967. Had NO idea where the hell I was for days, maybe even weeks. It was a foul-tasting liquid but it was said to heighten the senses whilst preparing one for NIRVANA. I must have missed that subway stop due to the effects of the hiatus because I never did reach it. (I think it's out near Flatbush or somethin'.)

Anyway, thank you for reminding me about something of which I have absolutely NO recollection. Hard to believe, but there ya have it, folks.

I'm an old-style social democratic liberal, and I strongly favor Israel, and I tend to agree with your ideas on antisemitism - when you express them. However, your contributions to the discussion seem to focus mostly on the size and construction of the sex organs of your fellow Mudcatters - and those posts get deleted as soon as I see them. Big Mick, if you do a search on anti-semitic you will see every thread has been closed and not always it seems for personal attacks.

I consider some, not all here to be anti-semetic and very anti-Israel. When they support the Arab cause, they are quite frankly supporting an enemy. So perhaps they deserve everything they can be attacked with.

Granted, they are entitled to their opinion. They are also entitled to be told that their personal opinion is full of crap, as a sympathizer of an enemy of course.

Martin, your views are well known and not without their supporters. I agree with many of them. I hate discrimination in all its forms that are used as an excuse to attack people. I am a supporter of Israel, and its right to exist. I also support a homeland for the Palestinians. They have every bit as much right to that as do the Israeli's. The latter does not make me an anti semite or anti Israeli. It is a simple statement of principle.

Having said that, I would also say that those who attack the Israeli's for their actions are being naieve or acting with an agenda. I believe that the right wing approach is wrong headed, but when a people have had an alliance of nations whose stated purpose was to drive them into the sea, or kill every one of them, or put them all in ovens, it is understandable that they would adopt a "never again" posture. Folks that don't get that are simply ignorant. There is no group in modern times who can lay claim to the extermination of 6,000,000 of their kin, followed by 50 years of a program to exterminate them and destroy their homeland.

Unfortunately, in their righteous anger, many of the Israeli's use their history as an excuse to ravage the Palestinian people preferring to lump them all together as "the enemy". I have no quarrel with a war on the groups, such as the Martyrs Brigade and Hamas, who terrorize and kill. But the collateral deaths on both sides make this a very sad circumstance.

However, it is truly sad that comparing Israel to the surrounding Arab countries/territories is the equivelent of a matchbook on a football field.

The reality is that Israel is not not saying Arab countires and territories do not have a right to exist. But it sure doesn't seem that way the other way around. No one in Israel is calling an Arab an infidel. No one in Israel is using pure terrorism.
