I am working on a list of words that describe Pennsylvania, the land, people, sports, resources, and other things unique to the state. The purpose of this list is to share with a group of 30 college students who will then be challenged to write a new state song. The words list that I end up with will be read aloud to evoke memories of the state to encourage a more vividly detailed end product.

So....what do you think of when you think of Pennsylvania?

List as many as you can please!

You have to get the album "A Pennsylvania Homecoming" by Dr. Adrian Bianconi (Dr. B). There are over 20 songs on this 74 minute album that describe every geographical region Pennsylvania as well as all the major historical events that took place there. I belive that Dr. B's website is www.morninglacemusic.com If that is not correct check it out on Google. You can do your entire assignment from this one album.

Well, there ain't much I can say good about PA... It is the site of the second bloodiest battles of the Civil War... Onlu Antietam, jsut a few miles south beats it out...

It is home to the Philadelphia Eagles, whoes fans are the most redneckish football fans in the universe... These are the folks who threw snowballs at Santa Claus...

I mean, this one one danged redneck state... Glad that most of ytou all don't vote 'cause yer too busy huntin' deer 'er spittin' tabacco...

Several friends from the UK have said, when we've been driving through the mountains, that it strongly reminds them of Wales.   There's a reason for Bala Cynwyd, Bryn Mawr (hope I've spelled them right) etc.

Actually, this is Jenn--grew up in Pittsburgh.

Art says, two seasons: winter and road construction. (and this is different from where you live, and we live, how?) Deer whistles. Pymatuning Dam, and canoes on the lake or on the Connequinessing Creek at Camp Carondawanna. The Tamburitzans, and tamburitza of all sizes. Pierogies. Lasagna. Gyros. Knowing when you got near home on the highway because of the names on the political signs--some with way too many vowels, others with way too many consonants.
Cook's Forest. Brady's Bend. Trilliums, bloodroot, violets and dog-tooth violets, spring beauties and April beauties and Solomon's seal, true and false, Indian pinks, and Mayflowers.
