Proving democracy isn't dead in Britain, we retain the right to criticise, ridicule and lambast the varying religions of these islands. Free speech will win out in the end.

Good one stigweard.I got friends back home who were out there protesting against this proposal.Were you out there doing your bit by the way?We wrote a collective letter to yer man at N°10,you can imagine where that letter went!

This is not meant to be a facetious point but one we should consider seriously.
Of the 25 labour MPs who voted for freedom of speech and against the Govt only two were women. Now that does not represent anywhere near the percentage figure of labour women MPs. The question is why did they vote with the Govt in such numbers. Do the Whips cow them more than the men? Are they just time-servers? Is dictatorship facilitated by getting more women than men elected? And how does this affect your thinking about all female candidacy lists?

The New Labour women MPs were largely drafted in as part of the Project- to replace the old- fashioned, male-dominated, TU supported, traditional roots- based MP, and often foisted on safe seats against the local party's will. They are Blair loyalists to a man (!) - don't you remember the Stepney Wives jibes back in 1997?

This parody sprang to mind back at the time of the first London mayoral election (remember Dobson?):

Iraq has finished Blair!!

He's now acting like a headless chicken, trying to secure a legacy......(New Labour education and health policy).
All will come to nothing, as Mr Cameron and the New Conservatives will be voted in at the next election and the whole mad merry-go-round will start again.
The Labour party deserve to be booted out, for their cowardice in failing to oppose Iraq en masse when public opinion would have been solidly behind them.
The British electorate probably deserve another manipulative, control-freak government,which will continue to erode their human rights and personal freedoms....for economic reasons.
