A guy called Eric Assad from Slough was sent to jail for three years yesterday for mailing heroin to his girlfriend in prison. He put his return address on the outside of the package!

I know this for a fact - prisons will not accept mail for inmates unless there is a return address. Poor guy was caught between a rock and a hard place.
Did they at least put him in the same prison as his girlfriend? Drugs are readily available in US prisons and they can share.

I could believe that. There was a girl in the news here a couple of weeks ago who called her local police station to ask where she could buy pot. The person who took the call pointed out that it was illegal, but the girl persisted, and finally showed up at the station with $3 looking for assistance.

I know pot is relatively cheap (I assume it is, I don't buy it myself) but I don't imagine you can get much for $3. Do they sell it by the pinch?

Actually, my business life in an earlier existence took me to Slough fairly often, one morning I arrived at the station and commented to the taxi driver about all the Police activity.
Turned out that a 12 year old on his way to school had kicked a plastic bag in the gutter and a human head rolled out.
It was the victim of a 'honour' killing for which two guys from Pakistan were later jailed.
After that, you believe anything you hear about Slough.

Sounds like the guy in this tale was using too much of whatever he sent to his sweetie.
