I know we can't outdo Mary & Jacqui in the tasteful gift department, but I might find something appropriate -- glow in the dark bugs or rubber seagulls or a copy of "What Bird Did That?" or something or other. I'll have to put this date on the calendar so I can find something REALLY appropriate for next year. (Don't even have any more of the roadkill dog toys -- I was fond of the hedgehog.)

I'll bring the rum cake (Saturday)! -- maybe Mary will provide the candles.

By the way, started watching "Firefly" and we were hooked before the end of the first episode. I LOVE cowboy shows!

I can see the scene now..Linn sets the Cake on the table. Mary lights the first candle, all the other candles without warning go whooooooooosh...Party Game time. Who can grab a piece of burning Cake wearing an Oven Mit and breathing apparatus:)

Ah, I'm thinking the explosive rum cake (alas, most of the rum will have baked off, though maybe not all of the alcohol in the rum in the glaze) may be better set off by the SPARKLERS we didn't use New Year's Eve.

Cake is baked -- it soaks up glaze tomorrow morning. Maybe we should bring some more rum as the proper tipple with the cake.

I have a bottle of rum and a bottle of Screech. Neither of which I intend to use in an arson attempt.

I have several gifts for Tami - none as objectionable as the blow up life size moose head she inflicted on me. But I tried. One is very appropriate for a park ranger and will serve her well during show and tell.
