Subject: RE: BS: Yet again, coffee beats tea From: Wesley S Date: 13 Jun 06 - 01:32 PM As the report says: "Even if coffee is protective, the primary approach to reduction of alcoholic cirrhosis is avoidance or cessation of heavy alcohol drinking," the researchers said." Nuff said.... |

Subject: RE: BS: Yet again, coffee beats tea From: The Fooles Troupe Date: 14 Jun 06 - 07:42 AM "Camp"? You mean the Maple Syrup? Well we only get a choice of "Camp" and "Queen" as 'real' ones sent here to Australia. Should we Aussies be insulted? |

Subject: RE: BS: Yet again, coffee beats tea From: M.Ted Date: 14 Jun 06 - 10:11 AM Now if coffee could just keep ClintonHammond from getting rolled on the way home, he'd really be sitting in the catbird seat. |

Subject: RE: BS: Yet again, coffee beats tea From: gnu Date: 14 Jun 06 - 08:35 PM Timmy's is good coffee? In the years before the plastic stir sticks, I thought all those pigeons in the parking lot were employed by Tim's to collect the wooden stir sticks to make more coffee with. YUCK!!! Why would you pay $$$ to ingest that black death and watch it come out yellow? Where do you think all that darkness goes... right into your soul!!! Of course, Nat drinks 'er, so's I might be inclined, eh? Seems ta make 'er dance a wee bit, sharp maid, that one, eh? Like ta brew sommat wit dat, eh, what? Fine lass. |

Subject: RE: BS: Yet again, coffee beats tea From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 14 Jun 06 - 08:43 PM The "beats tea" aspect of this appears a bit questionable on the basis of this research, since it doesn't seem to have included many tea-drinkers. And if it was carried out in California, as seems to have been the case, tea-drinkers out there mightn't be a bit atypical,,, They need to repeat this research in some part of the world where drink and tea go hand in hand. I can think of a few. |

Subject: RE: BS: Yet again, coffee beats tea From: The Fooles Troupe Date: 14 Jun 06 - 08:48 PM Starbucks has infiltrated Brisbane. Last time I went into town, all the little 'mom & pop' coffee shops with their own individualities had been evicted from all the large centres, and replaced by Starbucks. I asked for a 'cup of coffee' (Aussies KNOW that means Expresso - from a 'cafe' - unless otherwise stated!) - then went thru an endless procedure as to what the contents of my disposable paper cup with disposable paper add on handles would contain... And it was bland and tasteless and expensive! But at least I did pick up a HUGE mug for my own use at home, so the experience was not a total waste! "I wanna proper cup of coffee in proper white porcelain coffee cup!" |

Subject: RE: BS: Yet again, coffee beats tea From: M.Ted Date: 15 Jun 06 - 01:41 AM There is a huge tea drinking population in California, Mr. McGrath--in addition to all the natural, organic food people(for whom California is a spiritual center) There are more than four million Asians(the Bay Area population features 23% of Asian/Pacific Rim extraction) many of whom gravitate to tea, though they also imbibe. |

Subject: RE: BS: Yet again, coffee beats tea From: Gurney Date: 16 Jun 06 - 04:50 AM You won't live longer with coffee, it just seems that way. Hyper, you see. Muddy stuff. It is like bread, it smells wonderful, but it doesn't taste it. Now, a nice medium-strong Darjeeling, now that is a quality cup. |
