Subject: BS: Attack of the new private IRS From: Donuel Date: 03 Oct 06 - 11:00 AM You've heard how certain law and order presidents have used the IRS to get at opponents. The IRS has for many years had contractors take on many duties of the Federal agency. It has exponentially expanded that practice in recent years. Would you speculate that the new privatized IRS may have a back door open to Republican do gooders to ruin as many opponents of Republicanism as possible? Conspiracy under every rock? Nah but I have a few questions. Yesterday I got a bill for $40,000 from a Holly NY IRS office. We have never even been late. I don't know if it is double billing, wild mistake like in the movie Brazil or the common practice of a disgruntled neighbor phoning a tip that someone is a cheat or a mass 'phishing' scam. We will have 10 business days to respond. After that I wonder if they can try to take our house for imagined back taxes? |

Can't prove a thing against faceless agencies and corporations, so there is no need to be paranoid. Didn't Congress just say its OK to have secret prisons, designer torture, legal secret and hearsay evidence, and executions without a defendent ever attending his trial? Naw, I trust my goverment. There are no checks and balances with teeth anymore, so I have to trust them. |

Subject: RE: BS: The new private IRS From: Donuel Date: 03 Oct 06 - 11:56 AM I see plain language is undesireable...so The McCain compromise has given Bush the "tools" as described to combat terror. Its been hailed as a victory for the president. |

Subject: RE: BS: The new private IRS From: Donuel Date: 03 Oct 06 - 12:45 PM We live in an electronic society where everything revolves around computers. This is also true for your relationship with the IRS. The IRS computer is programmed to automatically make changes to your taxes when it receives information that varies from your tax return. It will automatically increase your taxes and assess penalties and interest against you. Your SS number as all that is required to plug you into any IRS classification. It does this without feeling. It does this without remorse. And it will do this without looking for facts and circumstances that may actually prevent it from increasing your tax or assessing penalties against you. It's programmed that way. And nobody at the IRS will take a second look at the demand letter the computer creates before it is sent to you. Just ask the programmers at Diebold. http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/Taxes/AvoidAnAudit/DontPanicIfTheIRSSendsYouALetter.aspx I will try to update this within 30 days ... if all the hoops are jumped through correctly. If not, the homeless do not have the luxury of internet access. |
