Subject: RE: BS: Deep Dish From: number 6 Date: 01 Nov 06 - 04:31 PM Shepherd's vegetarian pie ... is much like your standard pie but substitute the ground beef with ground soy meat. Simple, but very good ... especially with lots of fresh ground black pepper. biLL |

Subject: RE: BS: Deep Dish From: MMario Date: 01 Nov 06 - 03:44 PM Corn pudding 1 can whole kernel corn, drained (or 1 and 1/2 cup frozen niblet corn, thawed) 1 can creamed corn 3 eggs (or the equivilant in egg whites/ egg substitues) 1/2 cup corn meal. 1/2 cup bacon crumbles 1 cup SHARP cheddar, shredded 1 cup cream (milk, skim milk depending on how fat conscious you are) pepper to taste. Stir everything together except cream until well blended - stir in cream and turn into a buttered baking dish. (the dish/casserole should be deep enough that the batter fills it no more then 2/3 full - this does puff up a lot in cooking) Bake at 350 until set. (approx 1 hour) |

Subject: BS: Deep Dish From: Stilly River Sage Date: 01 Nov 06 - 01:54 PM Okay, I'm dyslexic and didn't have my glasses on when I glanced at the screen a moment ago and misread "Sheep Dash" as "Deep Dish." But by then my culinary neurons had already kicked in and I was all ready to read about whatever it is that people are baking this time of year in a deep dish. I'm still ready! Pies, casseroles, one-pot meals--what are you cooking, now that it is cold outside? SRS |
