Subject: Tech: Zen Digi Trad Broom of the Cowedenknowes From: GUEST,Nick Date: 02 Feb 07 - 09:20 PM SO to make the story short, when I go to Broom of the Cowdenknowes on the Digital Tradition pages, ones with the musical notations, it seems clear the song info is no longer there, they give me instead a quote of oriental philosophy. What does it all mean? Not the philosophy (working on that) but was the music once there and been removed? Why would it be removed? And if it was, did it get put somewhere I can find it with your help. As a whistling yahoo what I'm really looking for is Pennywhistle tabs for the song. Any Ideas? Thanks Whack fall the day Nick |
Subject: RE: Tech: Zen Digi Trad Broom of the Cowedenknowes From: Joe Offer Date: 02 Feb 07 - 10:11 PM Hi, Nick- What you're talking about is Yet Another Digital Tradition, which is a mirror of our Digital Tradition Folk Song Database with the tunes in various forms of notation. Their entries for "broom" are here (click) and here. Ours are above, but don't have pennywhistle notation. There seems to be a problem with the links at "Yet Another" - can anybody figure out the proper links to give Nick for pennywhistle "Brooms"? -Joe Offer- |
Subject: RE: Tech: Zen Digi Trad Broom of the Cowedenknowes From: Sorcha Date: 02 Feb 07 - 10:28 PM Is the pennywhistle thingie tab? I've never looked at it. Cause the melody line would work, if you can read music. |

Subject: RE: Tech: Zen Digi Trad Broom of the Cowedenknowes From: GUEST,Nick Date: 03 Feb 07 - 10:14 PM I am so un musical, such a simple tune, but I needed to see it to have a clue. I can, after an hour make it sound like the rendition from John Allen Cameron. Again thanks all Whack Fall TheDay Nick |
