CatsPHiddle, if yours is anything like ours was, you'll have the baby bagpipes too.. they sound so alike when you squeeze 'em in the middle!

If Brenda comes along, she'll have her fiddle too. I heard her tell the neighbours, we're probably going. Starting to look good for me.

After a quick overview with Google Earth, I realize there are a *lot* of tunes associated with that area - mainly by G.S. MacLennan: Mrs Macpherson of Inveran, The Falls of Shin, Inveran. A bit further afield and by other people, Dornoch Links, The Balintore Fishermen, a tune relating to Portmahomack.

Any ballads?

Not sure, Jack, will ask around.
My list includes voice, guitar, bodhran, assorted percussion (even another washboard, but prob won't bring that!) and B/C button accordion.
Nice to meet you at Glenfarg, Giok.
Still hoping to make it to Sidmouth this year too.

Spoons are great instruments. Not only can you play them rhythmically to provide counterpoint and accompaniament, but they're useful if someone drops your change into your beer, or if anyone brings cake or soup. You just need to remember to lick 'em clean after. Try eating soup with a melodeon!

TattieB, how are you going to get me in the car? Remember my girth :o)

(It's a good job I can't actually play any of the 20-odd instruments I've got in the flat...)

Sounds like great fun, but 20th Oct is the same weekend as the National Mod in Ft. William, and that's where I'll have to be. Have a blast...

It can (will)be done, Drumshanty - somehow! I can get everything in the boot, in fact chose my current car according to the orchestral carriage requirements! Be glad I don't play double bass!
Great spoon playing by Francie Bainbridge last night in the Wee Folk Club (and of course, melodeon by Jim)

Right folks, Graham tells me we have the hotel to ourselves for the weekend, what I don't have is a list of who's actually going, or intends to get there.
Can we start a list?

I really fancy this now. I won't be able to bring much to the party in a musical sense, though I've been known to sing at the drop of a hat (which I carry with me just in case). Will check if my wife's up for it and give yer amn at the hotel a ring tomorrow.

Damn! How did I miss this?????? Ye gods I'd love to come! Is there still room? Are there still flights???? AAAArggh! Pannnic!!!!

Right, first I need to go ask me Mum where exactly my cousin lives (he's supposed to be in Bonar Bridge) 'cos if they find out I'm up there and don't go say hi I'm dead meat.

Secondly I'll have to pummel my beloved Parker into whether or not he's coming as well. (I suspect not, but you have to ask...)

Cripes! Any info on accommodation etc people have I'd be most grateful for.... now, do excuse me....

So it's just me for the Friday/Saturday/Sunday nights.

Liz, I've just emailed you about your flight details, but I've just remembered I've used my (relatively) new email address and not signed it. If you see something from Creighton Manor, it's me!
