Really sorry about this, but not going to be able to come after all, so neither is Drumshanty. I have spoken to Graham of the Invershin Hotel to cancel our booking for the room, so he is going to contact whoever is top of his waiting list.
Very disappointed, but hope you all have a wonderful time.

Must say I'm kinda in your boat Drumshanty. Although I'd still be flying to Invershin as I live in London!

However, last year on my 40th birthday I decided enough was enough, I was fed up of camping in a tent that you had to 're-birth' yourself to get out of (and get dressed lying down in) and of basically not going to enough fests and gathers due to lack of transport.

I've scored a tent I can stand up in (and the foot print isn't much bigger than my old tent) and I've got as far as passing my theory test. Unfortunately, as I haven't got access to a car to practice in, I need more lessons and they're having to happen as and when I get the money. But still, shouldn't be too long now as my instructor is making iencouraging noises about booking tests and my mother has promised that I can borrow her car once I get my full license. So Next year promises to be fun!!!

My poor husband will become a folk widower....

a. lack of money

c. not being in the area

Well,
at the moment there is a 50:50 chance for me to make it.

either I come with a friend, but he refuses to stay at the hostel and prefers camping (which is out of question for me)
or
I cannot come at all cause I don't have a car at the moment and don't know how to reach it with public transport

Or
I have a car, can come up by myself and stay at the hostel...

The hostel has double rooms for about £29 a night if that's his worry.
Tell me where you are coming from, and I will tell you how to get there by public transport. Get to Inverness and we can get you the rest of the way somehow, or the train station is right beside the hotel.

I think a couple of my cousin's weans live in Inverness so that will be a help to me. Got the tickets and the wean's passport renewed so all I have to do now is escape from my mother for a day or two.

Me. He does try to be a good boy, but he will try to creep out of the bath before I've rinsed him properly.

We're thinking about sending him to a dog groomer's, but the only one I've found is called "pink poodles"

Just over a month to go, so I have booked my train tickets. I now have to work out how many and what type of instruments I can safely lug between the 4 trains I have to take. If all goes to plan, I shouldn't be in too much of a rush but if there are any delays, well….. I might have to limit clothes to a spare shirt and a few changes of underwear.

I will donate a double CD       "Tuesday Night @ the Tap & Spile"       for the raffle.

- 38 tracks of covers, original songs and poetry recorded by the Grimsby Tappites who attend the regular open mic/acoustic nights. It features several Mudcat members such as Tim the Twangler, Rockhen and myself as well as a number of Mudcat guests

Those who are not lucky enough to win it could buy the CD's at £5 each (£10 the pair). All profits are donated to the National Children's Home (Grimsby) and Viking FM's "For the Kids" charity. For each double set sold (as a set) during the weekend, I will donate a further 50p to Mudcat.

If anyone is interested in purchasing the CD's, either P.M. me or let me know in this thread.
