Subject: BS: All Right, I Give!! From: GUEST,282RA Date: 27 Feb 07 - 10:20 PM I've been sick as hell since December and I'm only just clearing a third sickness. When December came, my lower back went totally on the fritz. I never missed a day of work but I was in major pain and after 3 weeks, I still had it although it had faded a lot. By Christmas, it was almost gone. But things like bending, looking down, rolling over in bed, etc. could cause acute twinges and flashes of sharp pain. It was easier to stand than sit. After it faded out by January, my elbow began to ache considerably and then I was struck by a week long bout of nausea and listlessness. Didn't feel sick the way a flu does, I could work and I even continued to work out. I forced myself to eat but had severe runs--for a week. Then I woke up and it was gone but my elbow was so sore that I couldn't bend it. Then here in February, I get a dull pain between my shoulders, my elbow starts to feel really tender and then I start feeling "achey" all over and then come down with a terrible head cold and no energy--no working out this time but at least no diarrhea. Saturday was torture. Couldn't stay up without tiring, couldn't lay down long without my back and chest getting sore and I'd have to get up again. All through the night--up and down, up and down. It was horrible. Only today, did I finally go back to work but I'm still not 100%--I can still feel it a little. My elbow is sore but appears to be getting better. I hope that's it. I don't need anymore. I can't remember getting ambushed like this before. Uncle! Truce! Surrender! Whatever! Just stop already! Give me back my health, you sons of bitches! |

Subject: RE: BS: This season's viruses From: Bill D Date: 27 Feb 07 - 11:09 PM An elderly couple are both lying in bed one morning, having just awakened from a good night's sleep. He takes her hand & she responds, "Don't touch me." "Why not," he asks. "Because I'm dead." "What are you talking about? We're both lying here in bed together & talking to one another." "No, I'm definitely dead." Her husband insists, "You're not dead. What in the world makes you think you're dead?" "I know I'm dead because I woke up this morning & nothing hurts!" |

Subject: RE: BS: This season's viruses From: Bill D Date: 27 Feb 07 - 11:11 PM (truly...I sympathize...there are days when I'm not absolutely sure getting older is a good idea....but then eventually, it gets better) |

Subject: RE: BS: This season's viruses From: Janie Date: 27 Feb 07 - 11:38 PM They actually closed schools in some districts in eastern Kentucky, and in Putnam co. WV several weeks ago because of rampant viruses that were laying so many students out. Some several viruses have been sweeping the schools and workplaces here (NE Piedmont, NC) for the past several weeks. My kid missed a week + of school with one nasty virus that followed right on the heels of another, milder virus. 25% of the middle school were out Friday week with assorted viruses. So far--I've dodged the bullet(s). Here's to feeling good again, 282RA. May your springtime be gloriously healthy and happy for you. Janie |

Subject: RE: BS: This season's viruses From: GUEST,282RA Date: 28 Feb 07 - 01:14 PM My dad told me that my mom was just getting over a bad head cold and so was my sister. And a lot of people at work missed days. We've had a bad crop of something making the rounds. It had its way with me, that's all I can say. |

Subject: RE: BS: This season's viruses From: Becca72 Date: 01 Mar 07 - 11:08 AM My first instinct with the back symptoms is to be checked out for a herniated disc. I've been dealing with one since mid October and it's very painful and no fun at all...they can cause extremity pain and "lower intestinal" problems too if the herniation is pressing on the right area... |

Subject: RE: BS: This season's viruses From: The Fooles Troupe Date: 01 Mar 07 - 11:19 AM You don't know what fun is till you get 'referred pain' ... As my Doctor used to say "It really doesn't hurt, you know, you only think it hurts!" :-) (think about it...) |

Subject: RE: BS: This season's viruses From: wysiwyg Date: 01 Mar 07 - 03:40 PM There's one going around our area where it's not clear just WHAT is going on-- a little congestion, a little digestive unease, but mostly just feeling SICK, and tired. When the fever shows up, though, that explains the digestive unease-- taking time-release Tylenol before the fever kicks in for the afternoon helps hold the fever down so that the digestion works more normally on small meals of easily-digested things (clear soup, scrambled eggs, tea). That, and SLEEP. I blame the warm winter. ~Susan |

Subject: RE: BS: This season's viruses From: GUEST,Polina Date: 07 Mar 07 - 10:29 AM I had a virus that had very strange symtoms. Pain in the chest and back mostly on the left side, under shoulder blade, lower back pain, "sour stomach", headache, chills big time and then high fever started the next day...lack of appetite and fatigue.... Anybody had similar experience? |
