This one clips on Intellituner
But I have taken off the clip and have attached it to the outer metal ring of the banjo with elastic bands, as someone recommended on Mudcat some years ago. It works really well.
I couldn't find a link to the original makers. I got mine by mail order in the UK. They cost a bit more if you import them from the US as there is tax to pay.

I use the chromatic back light Intellituner. I must say that I have a tolerate/hate relationship with them. They do OK in most situations. And they excel in the living room. They are crushingly slow at times.
When my band is working I have two Boss TU-2 tuners on the floor, one for guitar and one for banjo. Both are quick and accurate.

When I play acoustically I still drop lines to the floor tuners.

IMT-500 - Twenty quid from any good music store, mine works on everything from an acoustic bass to a mandolin to a 5-string banjo.

All the best

Steve

Try the Intelli IMT 500 ones; cheaper than Intellitouch, work really well. One on ebay Here
I use mine for banjo, mandolin, guitar, bass, sax...

Go with the intellituner and if you play open back clip it on the perch pole permenantly, it folds in and out when you require it.
Mine has been on for 2 years and "YOU DON'T LOSE THEM" cheers Oombanjo

One's ears and brain are sufficient if one is among the few who possess perfect pitch. Otherwise, some sort of reference is needed to get an instrument right.

By "right" I mean tuned to the frequencies that the builder had in mind, not merely tuned to itself.

I have a Korg CA-30. It cost $30 US. It can be used to tune anything. When the first one I bought developed trouble with its on/off button, Korg mailed me a replacement at no charge. This was five months after purchase, and the replacement looks to be working indefinitely.
