Okay, it is a forgone conclusion that Scooter Libby will be pardoned if he loses his appeal so... have at it...

I figure it will take 'bout a year and a half for the new trial and then the trial will gake a month so I have it Dec. 23rd, 2008 which will be after the election but before a new president (oh, doeasn't that sound good) is sworn in an...

...heck, it's Christmas and folks is in a purdy ggod mood a couple days before Christmas, irregarless of one's Faith, so I'm stickin' with that date...

He won't be able to bet a pardon before Cheney resigns and a new VP is appointed so they'll have a credible candidate for 2008.

         Besides, so far Bush has refused to pardon the two border patrol agents who were actually doing something constructive, so how can he justified pardoning Libby?

It will happen before Christmas because Dubya's not gonna let Scooter spend Christmas Day in prison. It will also happen on a Friday afternoon because, lame duck or not, pols always wait until late Friday to toss out news that puts them in a negative light since fewer people watch TV news on weekends. That makes December 19, 2008 the most likely date.

I was thinking that the only things to survive 5,000 years from now will be the new cellular prisons we are building today.

I agree that it will happen between Christmas and New Year's in 2008. All arkward decisions are made in that time period. No one has any energy left to focus on whatever the government is doing.

I note that the banner ads are focused right in on this thread offering "Expungement Assistance" in clearing your criminal record!

I don't think it's likely that Bush will pardon Libby if he loses his appeal. But then I think he'll actually win the appeal. Main reason appears to be that he was denied expert witnesses regarding "the science of memory"--and the case seems to boil down to poor memory--which many of the participants seem to have had.

If anybody has solid evidence that this is not the case, I'd like to hear it.

I think the whole thing is a sideshow--the real emphasis should be an exhaustive study of just how the Bush regime carried out its Iraq propaganda campaign.
