The more I look at it, the more I realise how much I missed out. Like the fact that we were all so squashed in that little front room at The Red Lion, but that didn't matter. In fact, it added to the cosy, intimate feel. And i forgot to mention Buff's curry. Yummy and, I feel sure, stopped me getting too out of hand when the end of the night came (at about 1.30am). 'Tis sad but true that Gomez now has another....brown, curvacious (sob) and with good taste.....let's face it, I don't stand a chance. Dancing with Bill was a highlight but I hope to God no-one caught it on camera ( umm, sorry about your feet,Bill) and all the musicians and singers.....you couldn't find a flat note with a spyglass and a map. I don't think I left anything behind Bron but I could pretend I did. |

I went to the Outward Bound Sea School in Aberdovey, sailing old whalers and Wayfarers, in 1975. Had a braw time of it. It was a bit like going to the grey green greasy Limpopo river, all set about with fever trees, as I went there a wimp, and a month later came back a brick shithouse, and spanked all my aunties and uncles. The pictures have enabled me to put faces to many Mudcat friends that I could have met. Someday soon, we must have a gathering somewhere in the SouthEast, I'll see what Micca, LtS, Morticia and co think. I should have been there - anything would have been more fun than what I was doing (Figuring out how to shut down a business that had gone pear-shaped, fire six friends and my own daughter and get out without losing Francis Towers to the Bank). One consolation is that having done all that in the past two weeks, I should now have more freedom to indulge myself musically, and probably a need to make a little money out of it. Suggestions welcome! I count myself accursed I was not there, and rouse me at the name of Llanstock! Well done, Bron!!

I went to the Ourtward Bound Sea School on the Moray Firth in 1969 and sailed the old cutters there, which I have a hunch were moved to Aberdovey. You may have seen the dents my fingernails made on one on a filthy day up there. I sail whenever I get the opportunity now but it has to be on other people's boats, mainly deliveries, so if ever you're short of crew...... Aberdovey is my 'local', and favourite, bit of seaside and where I would like to keep a boat if I had one. I did a bit of work there as well - (I run these up-and-down-hills-and-paddling-canoe-type courses for a living) and always reckoned that the School there was the pick of the bunch. |

Mine is improving slowly, but I'm not so good at fighting off infections, they seem to last for ever, still i hope the first frosts of winter will help. The cellar is slowly emptying, thanks to us being on a gravel bed, and we haven't had any rain for the past 2 days..... it just smells like something died down there now.... but if you still want to come over and do some pumping, I'm sure I can find you something.....
