Subject: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: Matt_R Date: 30 Dec 00 - 06:52 PM I can't help it, she made me! Lol! In complaince with Audi's request, I have started this thread. Here's what she said: Well, as an increasingly-interested lurker here, and a female empathetic to Carol's dilemma, I've got to ask: how can a woman ferret out which Mudcat men are single/available and which have already been snared? Will someone make a new thread for it? Audi |
Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: Sorcha Date: 30 Dec 00 - 06:55 PM I don't believe I can be much help, here, even tho my bra is un hooked......... |
Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: Amergin Date: 30 Dec 00 - 07:07 PM Uh, Sorcha dear, thanks for telling us that.....I have always been wondering is Sorcha's bra unhooked? I would ask myself.... |
Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: GUEST,Audi Date: 30 Dec 00 - 07:53 PM LOL!! Thank you, Matt! Here's a kiss of gratitude. Where would you like it? OK, now I know Sorcha is unhooked (and female--but I had guessed that). Thank you Sorcha. You're a bra-zen female I can I identify with. However, I still don't know if 'Amergin' is an 'Amergino' or an 'Amergina'? When I saw the same person called "Am Urgin" (or something close) I thought surely you were 'Amergina', but now I wonder if I haven't made a mistake about your 'O' part or the lack thereof? What about it Amergin? (And you still haven't answered my question about who you intended to slight in that other thread--I hope it wasn't moi?) ;) Audi |
Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: CarolC Date: 30 Dec 00 - 07:55 PM Well, more like "unhinged", actually... ...and if Spaw gets his way, I'll be hooked up with a ferret pretty soon... |
Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: Amergin Date: 30 Dec 00 - 07:59 PM Audi, I am male....and I didn't mean to insult, was kidding (kinda sharp I admit), recently cut loose. |
Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: Matt_R Date: 30 Dec 00 - 08:00 PM Audi, you are one naughty lady! But I'm afraid I'm probably too young for you! |
Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: DougR Date: 30 Dec 00 - 08:12 PM And I'm single too, but as Matt is too young for you, I'm too old. DougR |
Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: GUEST,Audi Date: 30 Dec 00 - 08:14 PM LOL! Carol, isn't a ferret something like a possum? Is Spaw trying to work his way around to unloading on you? Thanks, Amergin, I'm laughing--and glad to know you're male and loose. LOL, Matt, age is not a factor here--I just now read that you have a feverish girlfriend! I'm not naughty enough to be able to steal you from someone hotter than 98.6. I know heat speaks! Audi |

Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: GUEST,Audi Date: 30 Dec 00 - 08:19 PM LOL! Now DougR, what is that supposed to mean? Anyway, I didn't ask for ages. There is no age problem that modern medicine can't mend--except the age problem of too much bier. (And I'm no necrophiliac.) ;) Audi |
Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: Haruo Date: 30 Dec 00 - 08:22 PM Not sure how available I am (got my eye on a lady who at least occasionally looks me back) but I'm male and not actually hooked. Liland (I know y'all thought I typed Lillian...) |
Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: CarolC Date: 30 Dec 00 - 08:32 PM Oh, Audi... now I have to get pedantic. I hate it when that happens. A possum is a marsupial. Marsupials are on a different evolutionary and taxonomic branch of the "warm blooded animals with hair" tree than ferrets, which are true mammals. I could spend more time explaining how that works, but I'd probably ruin everybody's weekend. |
Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: kendall Date: 30 Dec 00 - 08:38 PM The pictures in the resources will tell you the sex of the 'catters. (In most cases) |
Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: GUEST,Audi Date: 30 Dec 00 - 08:38 PM LOL!! Carol, I like pedantics--I like any kind of antics. But, I've smelled both a ferret and a possum---and they stink the same. Their fur is also the same color, in some cases, and they have the same ugly snarl when you try and shoo them away from the catfood dish. :) Audi |
Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: bigchuck Date: 30 Dec 00 - 08:38 PM I've been unhinged..oops..unhooked for so long it's a habit. Also I'm old, fat, ugly, and have disgusting habits....just ask Midchuck. Sandy |

Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: GUEST,Cleigh O'Possum Date: 30 Dec 00 - 09:20 PM Dear Miz Audi, I am not hooked at all even though I was molded. I'm a very friendly little guy and I always leave the seat down, mainly because I can't lift it up. Besides, I hardly ever use the bathroom. I have very fine manners and always ask before having anyone blow up my bottom. I was almost led astray by that nasty Cletus but lucky for me, other folks saw what was happening and had him arrested for "Contributing to the Delinquency of a Marsupial." I don't suppose things would ever work out perfectly for us since you probably prefer to date within your own species, but since this was a thread about being unhooked, I wanted to say that I am. Best Wishes, Cleigh O'Possum |

Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: Sorcha Date: 30 Dec 00 - 09:42 PM Audi, I LOVED the bier/beer pun!! Good one!! Most of you know I am female, and Hitched (to a cop, no less!) Most of you also know I am Un-Hinged, too. I also know that most of you are just dying to know that my bra is not only unhooked, it is usually non existant. I do own one for those unavoidable "White Silk Shirt" gigs, but I consider them to be Medieval Implements of Torture. And now back to our regularly scheduled programming...... |

Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: GUEST,Audi Date: 31 Dec 00 - 12:23 AM Awe. Thank you Amergin, and you too, Kendall. I didn't know that field trip was available to me: I went to the Resources and felt like I was running through an art gallery. You are all as beautiful as your thoughts. Now, I crave your voices, but I'm a bit afraid, 'cause I already can hear them when I read your posts, and what if they are not as melodious out loud? I promise I will go there though--I can't help myself. Audi |
Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: GUEST,Audi Date: 31 Dec 00 - 12:24 AM Dear Mr. Cleigh, Thank you so much for your letter concerning your unhooked state. Leaving the seat down, as you do, should guarantee that you be snatched up to your satisfaction. Housepets that hardly ever use the bathroom are my favorite kind. I, too, like fine bottom manners, and so much appreciate being asked before someone blows up my own. Contrary to your supposition, I am not specist: in fact, coming from the South as I do, I find I have an occasional craving for 'possum meat. Anyway, a species good enough for Mam'selle Hepzibah is good enough for me. Returning Your Best Wishes, Audi |
Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: GUEST,Audi Date: 31 Dec 00 - 12:26 AM Gypsy, you posted, and I assume you are male, from your Sorcha-induced pitty-pats? Where would you like yours? (You may just point if you're as shy as Matt_R.) LOL--Sorcha, you are a rather pun-ishing creature, yourself! Audi |

Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: GUEST,Audi Date: 31 Dec 00 - 01:17 AM LOL!! Matt_R, I like you, too! And all the Mudcatters--this is an incredible site. Thanks, Sorcha for the invitation--but this site isn't really about BS. It's about songs. I do so love music, and songs, and singing, but you all are pros and way out of my league. I just got hooked (LOL) into a funny thread tonight, and then Matt_R egged me on by making this one. I do have to confess, though, that since I've been lurking here these past several months, it's made me get my guitar back out and see if I can't make liars out of the self-proclaimed 'talented' members of my family that say I can't sing. I sound great in the shower--to me--LOL!! I do love songs, but I'm no pro. I am just your Mudcat Audi Enz ;) |

Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: Sorcha Date: 31 Dec 00 - 01:30 AM Audi, you're right, the place really is about music, so why not join us? Unless, you are already a member and having us on........as Doug says? Oh well. Whatever. I am going to bed........ |

Happy New Year! |
Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: GUEST,Audi Date: 31 Dec 00 - 01:55 AM Ouch, Sorcha. Nope. I'm just me--and here pretty often, but usually silent. I posted once to Song Challenge 42, and a couple of times in BS threads (porn, abortion, and Ode to Billy Joe)...but this is the first time I've been verbose. I just don't feel I have much to contribute here--I just sing for me. I'm one of the users that just takes--and saying that makes me feel guilty 'cause I probably should be a paying member for all the wonderful use I've gotten from the database. Liland, I'm sorry, I'm not German, nor an auto, nor an heiress. But I sure like your name. Are you hooked or unhooked? :) Audi |
Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: Haruo Date: 31 Dec 00 - 01:59 AM Mostly un, but heading towards hooked maybe. (I'm facing a standing invitation to walk the woods she just bought with her, and I'm afraid if I take her up on it I might end up hooked.) A bit skittish, perhaps I am. Liland |
Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: Amergin Date: 31 Dec 00 - 02:02 AM Audi, this place is a place to share knowledge, learn, and to make friends. I didn't feel I had much to offer, when I first joined up in February (can't believe it's been that long) and I still don't feel I do, except perhaps for my wonderful sweet irresistible angelic presence.....so join up, it's free. Amergin |

Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: Amos Date: 31 Dec 00 - 02:50 AM Audi, lass: While I'm sure you do more than just sound fine in the shower, I seriously do not recommend taking your guitar in there with you. If it is nylon-strung you will find it very hard to keep in tune; if steel, your budget will be seriously impacted by string replacement costs, not to mention having to get a whole new axe every time the old one comes unglued. Kendall, now, is kinda high strung, and I have always enjoyed watching him come unglued, and it costs less. Why not take him into the shower instead? He'll be happy to hear you sing your shower song while he warms up. I hope you have a large hot-water tank. Do let us know if you follow this friendly advice how long it takes for him to come unglued. Best regards, Amos |

Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: Naemanson Date: 31 Dec 00 - 08:58 AM Well, Audi, it's now your turn. You are claiming to be an unhooked person of the female persuasion. Be warned that this site is dedicated, among other things, to getting people together in real life. The friendships forged here actually do carry over into 3Dland. Because of this our members cannot get away with fake ID's and misstatements of either their looks or abilities. I am the only mucatter with a body like a weightlifter and a voice like Pavaroti. [And if you believe that one I have a nice new bridge to sell you here in Maine.] So, as I said, it is your turn. How about some facts, ma'am, just the facts. In keeping with previous threads you need to catch up with what we know of the other Mudwomen. Where are you located? How old are you? Which breast is larger? Do you rest your breast on the guitar or squish it behind the guitar when playing? What is your favorite book, movie, song, booze, etc. And there are so many more questions... Inquiring minds want to know!

I too was hesitant to join but since doing so I have been made to feel welcome and finally got to meet fellow 'Catters at the sing in Portland last week. I sing because it makes me feel good. I suppose that's the reason we all do. I tip my hat to those who can make a living doing what they love. I myself am a coward but as the song goes "All God's creatures got a place in the choir." Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: Naemanson Date: 31 Dec 00 - 02:11 PM Well, having met Peg and sat next to her at Barry's party I can second the opinions expressed by chantyranger. It a shame since she never seems "...to meet anyone interesting, available, attractive and sane..." that I'm either not in her area or... *BG* I seem to have frightened off Ms. Audi. If so, I apologize. Still Unhooked |
Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: Ribbit Date: 31 Dec 00 - 02:15 PM Getting "hooked" isn't so bad, it's the catch and release plan that seems to cause the pain. Thom |

Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: GUEST,Audi Date: 31 Dec 00 - 04:52 PM LOL! Naemanson, no, you didn't frighten me off--I'm just enjoying the other posts. I do make a good audience, because I love to watch. I didn't intend for this thread to be about me, and I am once-burned/twice-shy about advertising myself on the Internet. I will tell you that I am most assuredly female (hang on a sec.....yep, I just checked, and I still am)--and I love to flirt, but do I need to say that making real commitments is not my strength? Obviously I haven't commited to Mudcat, yet, either. (But thanks to everyone for your warm words--I'm not at all surprised to be asked to join up--you all are wonderful.) I didn't mean to whine last night about my voice--one of my New Year's Gifts to myself is to buy some voice lessons. I'm old enough to know that attitude is 99% of the answer, and I hope that with some instruction, I'll buy some confidence. Then, perhaps, I'll feel equal to calling myself a Mudcattywoman--but it's a title I can't use lightly. Again I say you all are out of my league. Now some facts for inquiring minds: I'm 5'6", 136 lbs, long bushy red hair, very adult but act very childlike very often, am not at all agist, my left breast is bigger (thanks so much for asking), unfortunately neither are big enough to drape over my guitar--my sister that got all the singing talent also got my share of those--LOL--and drapes them well--LOL--so I guess I'm a squisher! My favorite book is any one that I am reading at the time--I love books--for Christmas I bought myself "The Oxford Book of Humorous Prose" by Frank Muir and "Daughter of Fortune" by Isabel Allende (haven't started it yet). My favorite movie is "White Christmas", or it was last week--it changes constantly, too. My favorite song is too hard to pinpoint--I love so many--from the hilarious/bawdy to the skin-crawling/stomach-lifters. I find that it's not just the song that does it for me, but the combination of the song and the voice that usually blows me away. My favorite thing to do in all the world (even over music) is to laugh. Laughing is everything, to me, and so little time is truly devoted to it these days. It's the other reason I've enjoyed lurking at Mudcat. Otherwise, my only other memorable qualities are: 1. I don't have very good judgment at times (and so find it's often better for me to remain silent and be thought a fool than to post and remove all doubt (sorry, Oscar)) and, 2. as a result of my poor judgment and ready sense of humor, I tend to be a tad outrageous. LOL! And now, I've probably said too much. Oh, and DougR, I was going to scan my pussy for you--LOL--she's not hardly hairy at all--but decided that might not be the best judgment. (And, the SPCA might get me for it.) LOL! If you like, I'll scan my bushy hair? LOL! Audi |

Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: Peg Date: 31 Dec 00 - 05:12 PM kendall; thanks for clearing that up...I was confused for a minute! you do such a lovely rendition of that song, it haunts me still... so young? hmm, I guess it is all relative! I feel comparatively "old" some days but usually am very thankful to be just the age I am...and still somewhat easy on the eyes to judge by these superlatives you gentlemen are using (blushing again) Never met a nicer group of fellows than those guys at the Mudcat gathering in NH... |
Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: kendall Date: 31 Dec 00 - 05:14 PM SINSULL, here. Worse than that,Matt, we occasionally share a cookie. For those who are thoroughly confused - I am female, not male; I have no ongoing vendetta against the NRA; And as much as I love Peg's singing, she is neither my type nor too young for me. For the "Personals", I am single ( a chronic condition) with a son (25 and on his own - almost). Brown hair, brown eyes, large breasts. 53 going on 14. Over educated (MA in Classical Languages), underpayed (selling networking hardware), have travelled the world and always ended up in NYC though despite Midchuck's anti-NY comments I am neither a bad person nor a mass murderer. Orson Welles is my idea of sexy so all of you bemoaning your portly demeanor, come visit the Big Apple and be appreciated. I bake but hate to cook making the culinary Kendall the ideal host. He cooks; I clean. Now if Matt were only thirty years older and 50 pounds heavier... |
Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: Matt_R Date: 31 Dec 00 - 05:16 PM AUDI!!!! You are BAD!!!! Wanna know something? I weight less than you and I'm 2 inches taller! Scary...I must be a beanpole!! |

Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: kendall Date: 31 Dec 00 - 05:35 PM Matt...have you ever heard the old saying, What happens when you assume"? answer..You make an ASS of U and ME..I take great pride in the fact that not all of my friends are men. |
Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: Matt_R Date: 31 Dec 00 - 05:43 PM What do you mean, SINSULL? |
Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: Matt_R Date: 31 Dec 00 - 05:45 PM Sorry if that was insulting to anyone's weight...I was just playing off the fact that I am severely underweight. Never mind. I need to go off and be depressed more. Later. |
Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: blt Date: 31 Dec 00 - 05:48 PM Well, this feels like a big risk, but I'm wondering if anyone else out there--statistically, it should be at least one out of ten--is, like myself, of the lesbian persuasian, indeed, more than persuaded, or is this a primarily heterosexual land? |
Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: GUEST,Audi Date: 31 Dec 00 - 05:50 PM I wasn't insulted, Matt!! I laughed--I'm about 10 lbs overweight and it's my biggest ass-et--LOL!!! Don't go off and be depressed--you were the first to seduce me into posting here at Mudcat, and I lick you for it!!! Audi |
Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: kendall Date: 31 Dec 00 - 05:51 PM I cant comment on how many here are of the Lesbian persuation, but, I can say that we are mostly liberal. |
Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: GUEST,Audi Date: 31 Dec 00 - 05:51 PM DARN TYPO!!! I mean, of course, I LIKE you for it, Matt. ;) Audi |
Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: Bernard Date: 31 Dec 00 - 05:52 PM Erm, hello! I've been 'unhooked' for raaather a long time - not so much 'on the shelf', more 'right at the back of the cupboard'...!! Okay, I had a 'fling' about two years ago, but when it went wrong it damn near killed me... I've two children - daughter (with a 'bump') aged 23, and son aged 19, but my missus left about 14 years ago for reasons best not discussed here... So at 52 I'm unhooked, unhinged, and un-everything!! I did discover, however, that I'm not overweight after all. I'm just not tall enough! |
Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: kendall Date: 31 Dec 00 - 05:55 PM I thought that was a Freudian slip!! LOL |
Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: flattop Date: 31 Dec 00 - 06:08 PM You mean a Freudian slipper? |
Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: Matt_R Date: 31 Dec 00 - 06:11 PM Well, I know of 2 'Catters who are of the lesbian persuasion, but neither of them have visited in several months. But who knows, they may be still lurking. Typo my foot!! Wow, I'm honored...I find it a bit unusual that my idiotic posts would inspire ANYONE to post. And I have to be depressed. Feeling happy right now would probably make me sicker than I already feel. And no music can help it, I don't feel like singing either. Only one song I play...over and over again. And over and over until this dark night of the soul gives way to the golden sunrise of the future. --M |

Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: Bernard Date: 31 Dec 00 - 07:23 PM I'm 'hetero', but my missus wasn't. |
Subject: RE: BS: UnHooked Mudcatters, Post Here! From: GUEST,Audi Date: 31 Dec 00 - 07:32 PM Bernard, I was afraid to ask the 'reasons best not discussed here'. I have been in the same boat with an different oar. "Extremely frustrating" is an understatement. No other word comes to mind except a catch-all profanity. My sympathies. Audi |
