Lloyd, you are going to be in the 60 to 50% for a total cure. We all are praying and wanting that for you and you simply cannot ignore the power of this group as it brings it's presense into this universe. With all good wishes and good karma for your wellness. Peace during this difficult and demanding time. You will prevail. Heartfelt and caring from a fellow mudcatter.

Thanks again folks and thanks Dan..Well..The news. They found two fist size lymphoma's..One by my stomach (which explains the discomfort I was experiencing (and not just from playing with the Starboardwatch)..There is no entrance to the bone and no other locations. I started chemo two days ago and already the discomfort in the stomach is almost gone. Mild nausea..I know I have a way to go. The doc says we just dont want remission we want TOTAL CURE and I have 40 to 50% chance. I went to church and did notice I was not quite up to snuff..But Im hanging in! Thanks for all the support. It has been pretty bleak here with the storms and being down. Love you all..Warm Regards Lloyd

Keep us posted as best you can Lloyd. Like Dan said, you may not have a lot of interest in some things for awhile. But we do need the occasional word huh? Otherwise, I'll have to send Paw and Cletus out that way to check up on you and believe me, you don't want that.

BTW, I've had my share of "tests" and most of them are worse that some of the treatments and operations. I think there's a guy somewhere in charge of designing the damn things to be as unpleasant as possible.

Sorry Bob, we have to let you go because shoving a three quarter inch tube down his throat wasn't good enough. Ed here designed his to use a seven-eighths tube with ridges and to twist it while pulling it in and out about 2 inches. Your guy just choked a bit, but in Ed's test the patient gagged and felt real pain for over 20 minutes!!

My wife's father is a couple of months ahead of you in treatment for the same condition. I assure you that it has not been easy for him (or for her) but, while he is not out of the woods yet, we take great solace in knowing that he would have been dead already had he not been treated.

He's had a lot of discomfort and hit a low point at the end of his chemotherapy. The man is on radition treatment now and, of course, shaking his head about it.

I'm sure you will lose all interest in the concertina and accordion but it will be a great day when you pick up the box again for a few minutes and realize that you're a survivor.

All the best,
Dan Milner

Been thinkin' about you WW and just yesteerday Karen and I were talking about the very thing that Hollowfox brought up....smart girl there even if she does live in Youngstown. Fear is normal and that you're scared is a damn good thing! On the other hand.............

We just had another couple rough days and a friend said, "Boy you guys have really had your share the past few years. I don't know how you do it." Well the first point is that I'd like to have a talk with the clown that divides up the shares! What "shares" are available and can I be assured of getting a good dividend on ours? Better yet, can I sell ours?

The real point is that as you're going through it, there's always an initial shock/fear thing, but then we all tend to assimilate it into our daily lives. Karen and I were discussing that. We really don't notice or feel that we've been 'under the gun,' so to speak, because when you're in the middle of it, another wonderful thing your mind does is to take that really abnormal situation and make it normal and routine. From the good things I know of you after sharing this forum with you and friends of yours for several years, I'd say you'll be there before too long. The "fears" will be fleeting moments as you go about all the other details of your life which will now include some other things, like treatments and appointments. Soon you'll be concerned over the dumb stuff once again.....like not being late for some medical thing.....and life will seem normal. Trust me a little bit Lloyd.....If you let it happen, it will.

And remember, you're stuck with all the friends here who are thinking nothing but the best for you. And you know, it could be worse!!! You could be living in Youngstown......some things you just can't get past.

WW, there's a candle set up with your name on it, as soon as I get home from work. As the other posts show, there's been a lot of progress on this disease over the past decade or so, and a lot of work still being done. It's normal to be scared, so I'd be a little worried if you weren't man enough to admit to it.
I think you have to die at sea for Fiddler's Green, but perhaps accomodations can be arranged if and when both you and it (they? are ready). (apologies if the medical/metaphysical humor is a bit strange, but I was always assured by my relatives that I'd recover from something because those that are born to be hanged can't die any other way. And I'm still here. Hmmm);)

WW, Fiddler's Green isn't ready for you, yet, either!*BG*

When the fear comes up, try to replace it with something else: prayer, meditation, music, picturing yourself making more music, after all of this is over, and you are recovered. Just tell that fear, "Thanks, but no thanks, I don't need you!" Then try to fill up on the more positive.:-)

Holding you in the Light,

kat
