Subject: RE: BS: Spare thoughts for Spaw - home on Saturday From: Amos Date: 20 Sep 09 - 03:51 PM Pat: Don't worry about the short-lung capacity. Move slow, sleep a lot, do small things and walk a little now and then. It WILL build back up to normal. Well, not that anything about you could be called that, but you know what I mean... That's the way peeneumonia rolls, dude--the recovery is a long gradient but just take it one step after another, you dumb shit. Boy, am I glad you came out of there dick first. A |

Glad you're home, Spaw. Take it easy... SINS the Grump |
Subject: RE: BS: Spare thoughts for Spaw - home on Saturday! From: katlaughing Date: 20 Sep 09 - 02:55 PM Just got off the phone with himself. He's doing pretty good until he tries to do anything; then it's wipeout time. We're going to have to be happy with the one or two postings he's been able to do, for a while, folks. They've got some rearranging to do at home for convalescing and he's got to take it slow and steady. Lucky for him, he doesn't have to be on supplemental O2! The dog, bird, and cats are happy he's home, as are the kids and KarenSpaw, of course. The bird was REALLY loudly proclaiming her/his joy!:-) |
Subject: RE: BS: Spare thoughts for Spaw - home on Saturday! From: gnu Date: 20 Sep 09 - 02:28 PM Easy, SINS... there will be lots of time to kick him in the nuts in about six weeks. If you stress him out, it may take longer and the lineup will grow longer too. I hate standing in line... of course, ladies first... >;-) |
Subject: RE: BS: Spare thoughts for Spaw - home on Saturday! From: katlaughing Date: 20 Sep 09 - 02:01 PM Spawdarlin'...think beyond six weeks and don't push it, okay? You know what I've just been through the past five months. NOT that you have to take that long and you probably have a jump start on where I started since they didn't incarcerate me and ya had yer own thread, BUT DON'T PUSH IT!! If it takes longer, it takes longer and use yer O2, if they were smart enough to prescribe it, okay? And, do NOT worry about posting here. it's enough to know you are home.:-) luvyabuncheskatstillshakybutgettingbetter |
Subject: RE: BS: Spare thoughts for Spaw - home on Saturday! From: SINSULL Date: 20 Sep 09 - 01:18 PM Enough of this Poor Spaw crap. The one who really deserves the sympathy and cards (probably not Boberts) is Karen. That idiot husband of hers ignored a cold knowing where it could go (Damn it, Spaw! I am really pissed at this one)leaving her holding the bag full of doctor.s meetings, snotty nurses and dirty laundry. I am going to find the most horrible piece of hideobilia and sent it to this saint of a lady. Spaw is getting the mean little nuns to watch over him with a big ruler. Poor Tris and Michael get caught up in this BS too. It must scare them to death. You damn fool - if you do so much as sneeze, you see a doctor! Got it? Much love, Auntie SINS |

Subject: RE: BS: Spare thoughts for Spaw - home on Saturday! From: gnu Date: 20 Sep 09 - 12:45 PM Ebbie... "Congratulations to us all!" How perfectly fitting. Almost brought a tear to my eye... the good one. You have reminded me by that concise accolade of the contributions Pat has made to The Mudcat Café in so many ways over the years. The writings and stories, being a friend to all, leading the way in fund drives, defending and supporting the policies that make this vauable resource what it is, and using his unique vernacular to call a broke d... you know, amongst others. Congrats indeed. Thanks Ebbie. Now... enough of that. Six weeks before you can take a good kick in the nuts? Brings a tear to me bad eye. |

Subject: RE: BS: Spare thoughts for Spaw - home on Saturday! From: catspaw49 Date: 20 Sep 09 - 11:50 AM Well first.....Thanks to you all and as usual there are never enough words to say what is really in my heart. I do want some of you to know I was able to deliver all the babies successfully ...... Kendall sent me a lovely photo card---a fuck you right back atcha' ...... and Bobertz card put me in the mood as well as the staff. In all seriousness I will come back with more detail about this nasty one later but the pneumonia took over 50% of the volume in both lungs and the Docs say it will be at least 6 weeks to fully recover and assure its gone. Folks, this one was bad. I feel pretty good but get tired almost immediately.....simply amazing how weak I am......and a bit depressing as well. So I'm gonna' take it easy getting back here as well. I had a few laughs in the hospital as well though which will add to my continued collection of dumb medical crappola. Thanks again and I'm damn glad to be out and about again, even if a little slower! Much love to you all. And Greg? Dodged another one old buddy --- LOL..... Spaw |

From: Rapparee Date: 19 Sep 09 - 06:15 PM I understand that he was tossed out of the horsespittle because they couldn't keep him under a fume hood big enough and the EPA got after them for the unnecessary, illegal, and totally unjustified release of noxious fumes. |

Subject: RE: BS: Spare thoughts for Spaw - home on Saturday From: Andrez Date: 18 Sep 09 - 08:07 PM If the measure of how well a person is cared for is the amount of sh*t that is dumped, shovelled, thrown, hurled or otherwise propelled at them, then 'Spaw is well and truly loved. On the scale of 1 to 10 on the Sh*t-O-Meter he must be a 12, and if laughter can heal all then he'll live and post on the 'Cat for another century or two at least! Dunno if I'll be around that long though :-( Cheers, Andre |
Subject: RE: BS: Spare thoughts for Spaw - home on Saturday! From: Fortunato Date: 18 Sep 09 - 07:06 PM Good. Subject: RE: BS: Spare thoughts for Spaw - home on Saturday! From: Jeri Date: 18 Sep 09 - 05:53 PM I'm willing to bet they made the mistake of letting him eat something and now just long for the good ol' days when the only thing that flammable was O2. Subject: RE: BS: Spare thoughts for Spaw update - out of ICU! From: Hollowfox Date: 18 Sep 09 - 02:09 PM (Jay-sus! I go walkabout for a bit and I come back to this...) Well, 'Spaw, I'm glad you're out of ICU. When you'r ell enough to complain, they know you're not sick enough to be in ICU any more. Now fagawdsakes, stop with the over-testosteronated assholery of saying "I'm not sick" until wou have to be wheeled into the hospital! It's not just hard on you, it's hard on Karen and the boys, not to mention all us slack-jawed idiots here at the 'Cat. Don't make me get all Mommy on your sorry ass! Now, down to business. Good thoughts and prayers are rushing to you and yours right now, and the Gen-u-ine Pure-Bred Midwestern $#@!-reduction candle series will start up when I get home from work. |
