Subject: RE: BS: Silly Secret Santa Signals - 2005 From: GUEST,Megan L's Elvish Elves Date: 04 Nov 05 - 01:54 AM Megan me girl! We were wondering where you were. You weren't in Santa's toy cupboard so we thought perhaps you were outside monstering Rudolph. We have been very busy helping Santa choose some goodies for you and soon, very soon, we will be making The Big Trip to the post box. Unfortunately we couldn't send the champagne so we decided to drink it ourselves (geddit? oursELVES? no?.......never mind) and it was very nice so thank you. Best Regards The Elves |

Subject: RE: BS: Silly Secret Santa Signals - 2005 From: GUEST,to all those with tardy Santas Date: 03 Nov 05 - 05:15 PM Ouch! Bummer!!!!!!!! I have dispatched the elves hither and yon, barraging my Santee with weekly cards. So now I address these wishes to all of you, named and unnamed, who have not heard from your Santas. (Those named I have addressed by said monikers; those unnamed, if you had groused publically, I would have named you too.) Mooman, I wish you manifold the peace you wish to all of us so bounteously. I also wish you a giant PIECE of Christmas pudding! Cllr, I wish you all the ColLoRs of the rainbow to decorate your life. Crane Driver, I wish you a smooth highway for your journey, and may others do the heavy lifting. Stephen Lee, may your you and your new bride have a life as full of unexpected surprises with happy conclusions as your wedding. Seaking, may you find everything your heart desires under the tree and in life in general. Megan C., may you always see clearly the right way before you. C also stands for cake, carols, and Christmas—may the three come together abundantly. Alba, may your voice echo from the mountains and return to you all the beauty you give to the world. JacquiC, may you and your Kendall live long to make music and merriment together. To you and everyone else whose Santas have not yet shown up, may it be because they are sooooo engrossed in preparing something very special for you that they have lost track of time and all else, and have simply forgotten to post a wee message to their dear Santees. God bless us every one! A lonely Santa |

I just have not been around these parts much, trying to get my bloody elves iin line....Can you believe the little bastards actually went on strike? They said I wasn't giving them any pay or benefits...and they wanted Christmas off...I feed them, I clothe them...and the benefit is I let the little blighters live in the warmth under a roof...instead of outside in the cold...I sent my reindeer after them...and they'll sort things out in short order. |

It would also be helpful if some of the Santees who haven't let their Santa's know their likes and dislikes posted some info too!! That way furry, petite sized, Pink Bedsocks don't go to a Mudcat Misters (unless that's what a particular MM wants) and that old Christmas classic bottle of "Old Spice" doesn't arrive to grace one of the Mudcat Women's dressing Tables...( unless that's what any of the MW requested!!)**BG** Info is power, the power to shop/make/the right choice for the right Santee and the difference between getting a pressie someone likes or a pressie someone just plain .... get my drift....!!!!! 54 days till Chrimbo....anyone still got info to share...don't be shy..***pixie smile*** TIGP |

Subject: RE: BS: Silly Secret Santa Signals - 2005 From: greg stephens Date: 03 Nov 05 - 05:47 AM To my Yuletide Benefactor: if you are unsure as to how long six feet is, I suggest the best way to figure it out is to straighten the alligator(or crocodile) out on the floor. It can be quite difficult to make it stay straight, a rope at either end tied off to opposite doorknobs or something may be necessary.(Don't make the common mistake of tying off to drawer handles, these animals are quite powerful and can pull drawers right out). Then you lie down beside it. If it's longer than you are, then it's too big to be my present. |

But who's counting? :-) And in the case of Mudcat it's quality and not quantity that counts. In my case it's the fact of living on a very, very large island surrounded (girt) by sea with a relatively small population. (Who's Gert?) Helen in Oz |

Not particular, though I *appreciate* good chocolate I always give chocolate a chance. Diets don't effect chocolate consumption!~ SSilly SSanta! Chocolate is exempt from diets! Bourbon no, Scotch normally only if a single malt, coffee and tea but not decaf! "City Dude" and "sophisticated" I don't think have ever been used to describe me. And as far as guessing - I suspect you are on the right hand of the pond - but that could just be trying to throw me off. MMario |
Subject: RE: BS: Silly Secret Santa Signals - 2005 From: Pseudolus Date: 31 Oct 05 - 12:32 PM To my Gorgeous secret santa, More about myself? Hmmmm, I'm married to an amazing woman and I'm the father of two teen-aged girls (14 and 16) and father to twin boys (just turned 2!). The amazing woman provided the twins! I've been lurking around the mudcat for about 5 years or so and I probably hold the record for the longest mudcat tenure while meeting the fewest mudcatters face to face! I play the guitar and sing, and at my church I am the Contemporary Praise Team leader along with my wife. In that group I play the drums which is an old bad habit I picked up in high school. I'm 47 years young and one of my favorite activities is coaching my daughters in a variety of sports. I think that about covers it! Frank |

Subject: RE: BS: Silly Secret Santa Signals - 2005 From: Charmion Date: 30 Oct 05 - 06:29 PM Oh, Father (Mother?) Christmas, could it be that you are *threatening* me? Dead mouse and smelly sock, and not even Hallowe'en yet! But you've given me a good hint to your identity -- you've got to be at least partly feline, with such tid-bits at your disposal. But since you ask ... I am 51 years old and I play the guitar and the mandolin. I have just acquired a tenor banjo. My favourite colour is green. I like CDs with mixed songs and tunes, preferably traditional. Something from your home area would be nice, just so long as the soloists do not meow. An all-instrumental CD that I could listen to while working would be great; I think I'm wearing out my copy of "Old Hearth" by Robin Huw Bowen. I like history, memoirs and biography (but not the gossipy film-star kind), and novels, especially Terry Pratchett and good detective stories such as those by Minette Walters, John Brady and Peter Robinson. I like song books and tune collections. I read dots & tadpoles, but struggle with tabulature. No t-shirts, thank-you very much; I have one that says "Eat More Possum" and therefore need no others. I don't collect stuff, at least not on purpose. |

Subject: RE: BS: Silly Secret Santa Signals - 2005 From: GUEST,Freda's Careless Claus Date: 30 Oct 05 - 03:07 PM Only one card? The post must be slow this week.... The site that you pointed to is incorrect in one significant fact. The jackalope (which is not any relation to the antilabbit) is actually a juvenile form of the north pole reindeer. The latter, in turn, really is a separate species from the northern European reindeer, in that they are able to fly. The jackalope, which one can easily see is related to the deer, practices flying by taking prodigious long jumps...up to fifteen metres. |
