Subject: Lyr Add: MANSIONS FOR ME (Bill Monroe) From: Jim Dixon Date: 26 Oct 19 - 06:29 PM MANSIONS FOR ME As recorded by Bill Monroe and his Blue Grass Boys, 1947. (Columbia 37294) 1. There’s folks building homes as sweet as can be. They’re leveling their yard; they’re planting their tree. But my little hut, I just let it be, For Jesus is building a mansion for me. CHORUS: Mansion for me (mansion for me), a mansion for me (a mansion for me), Built by my Lord beyond Calvary But my little hut, I just let it be, For Jesus is building a mansion for me. 2. Each day I am getting more ready to go. I’m cleansing my sin more whiter than snow. I’m packing my troubles bound with his love, Getting ready to move to heaven above. CHORUS 3. To you who have homes in this world below, Driving fine cars wherever you go. There’s coming a time when they’ll all pass away. Get ready to move with me on that day. CHORUS |

Subject: Lyr Add: IT’S MIGHTY DARK TO TRAVEL (Bill Monroe) From: Jim Dixon Date: 26 Oct 19 - 12:13 PM IT’S MIGHTY DARK TO TRAVEL As recorded by Bill Monroe and His Blue Grass Boys, 1948. (Columbia 20526) CHORUS: It’s mighty dark for me to travel, for my sweetheart she is gone. The road is rough and filled with gravel, but I must journey on alone. To me she was a little angel sent down to me from God above. ‘Twas on the day that I first met her that I told her of my love. CHORUS Many a night we strolled together talking of our love so fair. My love for her will never vanish for I know I’ll meet her there. CHORUS Travelin’ down this lonesome highway, thinkin’ of my love that’s gone, Knowin’ soon we’ll be together; she’s the only love I’ve known. CHORUS |

Subject: RE: Bill Monroe From: katlaughing Date: 09 May 99 - 12:43 AM Hi, R sant. If you look up in the right hand corner of this page, you will see a blueish-gray box with a search area in it. This is the DigiTrad database wiht over a gazillion lyrics in it. If you type in Bill Monroe with brackets, like this [bill monroe], there are a bunch of his lyrics that come up. If you are looking for a specific song, it is a good idea to search there first, then if you don't see it, start a new thread and be sure to put the name of the song in the title of the thread, just like you did with Bill's name. That saves everybody time and those who might have information can easily tell what you are looking for in a quick scan of thread titles. Have fun and welcome. katlaughing |
