Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa, My Pressie has arrived From: Bat Goddess Date: 27 Dec 08 - 08:37 AM To my still anonymous Santa -- Package arrived in yesterday's post -- and I HAD to open it in the car (Curmudgeon was driving so I could do that more or less safely) which was made complicated by bulky winter attire, car on curvy road, etcet etcet. Lovely stuff! Flamingo cross-stitch (Flamingoes? Moi?!?), earrings(es), burgundy velvet stole/scarf... Thank you! Plus the threat, I mean, promise of more to come by New Year's. Hmmm...now THAT's a hint. Narrows it down to...the people I'd already been suspecting. Argh!!!! Happy Christmas! And thank you! Linn |

Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa, My Pressie has arrived From: My guru always said Date: 27 Dec 08 - 02:29 PM Well, I have a Huge thankyou to my Dear Secret Santa for my very thoughtfully chosen gifts, I feel really spoilt! Beautifully crafted beeswax candles shaped as pine cones, just gorgeous! The Swarowski crystal earrings are very special indeed & I was delighted to find the stone from the Maumee River and to read some of the areas history. Thank you so much to Escapee for being such a considerate Santa, I have been blessed by this contact with you. Festive greetings to you and wishing You & Yours Health & Happiness for the New Year! Love & Hugs, Hil x |

I can't wait to make the soup & guacamole. I'll try the jelly on toast tomorrow. And I'll be online checking out the hierloom seeds, etc. I haven't guessed your identity, so I'm waiting for more clues. Happy New Year, Maryanne |

Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa, My Pressie has arrived From: GUEST,Barb'ry's satisfied Secret Santa Date: 28 Dec 08 - 06:43 PM Well, my dear, I'm glad my offerings pleased you - I only wish the purse strings this year hadn't been so tight! The elves and I had to do our best with limited resources, which isn't the way we like to work at all. But there is a fairly large clue in the form of the most durable of the gifts ... you will, I think, have heard my voice in a non-ho ho ho kind of way ... SS |

Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa, My Pressie has arrived From: RangerSteve Date: 13 Jan 09 - 03:44 PM My present arrived last week, but my computer was in the shop. I'm just getting back on line today. Anyway, my SS lives in Earlwood, NSW, Australia, and that's all I know. I got two very good cookbooks (now I have to figure out what the U.S. equivalents of some Aussie names for ingredients and utensils). A photo book of early Sydney, a toy stuffed Crimson Rosella (an Aussie wild bird) that sings, and a few other Aussie souvenirs. Thanks. I love the bird, It's sitting in my Christmas tree. |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa, My Pressie has arrived From: ranger1 Date: 19 Jan 09 - 12:01 PM Dear Santa, Thank you for my clock. It arrived on Friday. I shall take it to the park, as several crew members have complained because we don't have a clock in the maintenance shop. As for the date of arrival, so worries. I just had Christmas with my family a few days before that, so it's still Christmas. |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa, My Pressie has arrived From: GUEST,Foolestroup's worried Santa Date: 20 Jan 09 - 08:19 AM Well, I'm starting to wonder if my gnomes have got lost or are still wandering around in the Outback somewhere or whether I sent them to the right address. Three of them should have arrived well before Christmas and the final one started flying on the 15th of January and should reach you soon, hopefully..... Any news??? |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa, My Pressie has arrived From: Stilly River Sage Date: 10 Apr 09 - 11:14 PM Revisiting this thread to let my Santa know that the wine has had an occasion to be opened. Mixed reviews in the apple (not bad, but we didn't probably choose the best dish with it) but thumbs up on the blueberry. Wonderful with sweet creamy dessert dishes. I have a favorite sweet yogurt and strawberry dish that went beautifully with it. SRS |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa, My Pressie has arrived From: AllisonA(Animaterra) Date: 11 Apr 09 - 07:58 AM Mine never came... Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa, My Pressie has arrived From: GUEST,Foolestroupe's Santa of 2009 has resigned! Date: 12 Mar 10 - 07:50 AM Well, I never did hear from Foolestroupe so I don't know if my gnomes went to the right address with the 4 parcels. Which is a real shame as a lot of thought and care went into those parcels not to mention all the funds for transpoting them across the globe. Didn't hear anything on the thread either, perhaps my Santee wasn't impressed. If the address was wrong, surely there would have been some mention? I'd really enjoyed Secret Santa previously, but 2009 really disappointed me. exits stage left, grumbling |

Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa, My Pressie has arrived From: vectis Date: 27 Mar 10 - 06:52 PM Hi Jacqui I got my beeeeeaaaauuuutiful shawl today from MGAS. It is truly stunning. Thank you so much it will be one of my treasured posessions that will go with me when i move Dahn Under. Thank you for all my wonderful pressies. I still love the look on people's faces when they pull up behind me and do a double take at the nodding moose in my car's back window. You can almost see the thought processes... "Hey lookit that weird dog" "That's no dog" "Whassit then" "Deer, moose maybe?" "Don't get many of them in Sussex." The lobster cruets raise a few giggles when they go on the table too. Thank you for being such a good santa. Maybe see you both this summer. Mary |

Jacqui knew I'd be seeing her around Easter time & posted it to me as another surprise for her!! I have to say it IS absolutely gorgeous & the perfect colour for Mary. It was safe with me as I don't 'do' the colour red. Any other colour & it would have been a different story though *grin* |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa, My Pressie has arrived From: Hawker Date: 28 Mar 10 - 06:19 AM Dear Santa, I hang my head in shame that I have not, until now thanksed my lovely santa, whoever they may be for the most excellent present which arrived just after Christmas in January. The beads were really beautiful, and are in my box waiting for me to finish a couple of other projects before I create a 'masterpiece' with them! The music book made me laugh so much, I sing with Mike O'Connor in the Cornwall songwriters and have a lot of his books, but amazingly NOT that one! very clever indeed! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! and sorry for not saying that earlier, life has been a little hectic and trying here! Cheers, Lucy xx |

Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa, My Pressie has arrived From: GUEST,A delighted Easter Bunny - message for Greg. Date: 28 Mar 10 - 06:09 PM Dear Greg I am delighted to hear you are still alive (I understand quite a few Catters have crossed the Rainbow Bridge since Christmas). The reason I am writing to you is that when I went to borrow the sacks from Santa to stack with Easter Eggs for delivery I came across a parcel addressed to you in the bottom of one of them. I can only assume it is your present from your Secret Santa. I will arrange for it to go into the post in the next few days. Happy Easter xxxxx |

Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa, My Pressie has arrived From: The Fooles Troupe Date: 31 Mar 10 - 03:33 AM SiS just told me ... I'm Sorry, I wasn't looking at the SS threads - cause I didn't take part in 2009... I don't know how I got a SS to send to me, cause I clearly remember telling SiS that I wouldn't take part - for a number of reasons in 2009, including financial ones. I don't remember getting any parcel that wasn't expected, sorry, especially any unexpected Gnomes - would have remembered .... |

Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa, My Pressie has arrived From: Bat Goddess Date: 31 Mar 10 - 05:15 PM My Secret Santa and I finally caught up with each other at the David Jones house concert at Sinsull's last Saturday night. Gifts well worth waiting for!!! The Simon's Cat book that was on my list and I hadn't gotten from anyone else (good thing!), notepaper made from elephant poop (no shit, it's cool!), a scallop puppet (blue eyes and all -- squid, alas, were unavailable but the scallop is lovely), "Why Is Daddy Wearing a Dress?" postcards of embarrassing to ask questions illustrated with cute baby animals, Maine-made lavender soap (that not only smells wonderful, but has exceptionally rich lather) and a really neat ceramic cat ornament. Thanks, Tami (Ranger1)!!! |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa, My Pressie has arrived From: The Fooles Troupe Date: 01 Apr 10 - 03:35 AM 2008? PS thanks for your efforts :-0 |

Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa, My Pressie has arrived From: greg stephens Date: 13 Apr 10 - 06:26 AM WEll a very anonymous parcel has just arrived, very welcome. It contains three books, one on Doncaster, two on Askern which appears to be a village near Doncaster. Now, I've put on my thinking cap, put myself in Sherlock Holmes mode, and come to the following conclusaion: I think my Secret Santa is probably from the village of Askern near Doncater. More than that I couldn't really say: probably a rather dour Yorkshire person, as there are no chocalate goodies, litle amuse-bouches, miniature bottles of whisky such as more frivolous Mudcat S Santas enclose(eg ones from Lancahire or other fun loving places). Also, as the books contain my favourite sort of industrial coal/canal sort of stuff, I would guess it is from a male type of person. Women are not generally interested in books about Tom Puddings and Sheffield keels(though this is obviously a bit of a generalisation, I could be wrong). If the said person were to identify him(her)self, I would like to say thank you. I still haven't identified my 2008 Santa! |

Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa, My Pressie has arrived From: GUEST,Greg's Giggling Gifter Date: 13 Apr 10 - 08:59 AM Dear Greg I'm glad your pressie finally turned up. It had got put on a shelf and then mislaid until we were doing a house 'scoopage' for someone coming. You are entitled to One and a half points for your guesses. Yes I live NEAR Askern but not IN Askern. I hope I am not dour - I'd soon be in trouble with my friends if I was, but I AM Yorkshire. However you didn't get the 'sillies' as I couldn't tell from your answers just what sort of things you would appreciate eg no smellies, jewellery, toys etc. I love canals and their history, also info about the mines - have you ever been to Cap House Collery, well worth a visit. I am FEMALE! I will give you a further clue to work on:- You nearly got an additional book/pressie from Bangor which is where my offspring is. Hugs xxxxx |

Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa, My Pressie has arrived From: greg stephens Date: 22 Apr 10 - 10:33 AM Well my Secret Santa's identity might be just coming to light. She says, as a hint, that she has an offspring in Bangor. That meant nothing to me in terms of people I've noticed on Mudcat, so I did the cheat's way out and resorted to Google. And it didsn't take long. I believe her name is Pip Freeman, and I thank her very heartily for some very informative and interesting presents, just the sort of thing I like. |
