:-) I manage to make myself meditate this morning, followed by 25 minutes of qi gong...first time in weeks. See the therapist tomorrow and the pulmonologist on Wed. The iv infusion went so well I've scheduled the last one for this Friday.

My mind is still mired, but I have managed to get a few things done, too. I know the therapist said to take three weeks and do nothing but what my bod wanted, but I can't stand just lying about so much while the dust layers build up, etc. in the house!:-)

I know...float, just float...:-)

He He a little story of another scardeycat to make you smile. Cookie was the runt of the litter there were days when she jumped at her own shadow. One day the young lad down the road who babysat her when we had to go away came up to check what we were needing.

He told me he couldn't find Cookie we searched the house unsucucessfuly eventually we went into the bedroom nothing seemed out of place till I looked at the top of the bed. There was a tiny bump that mewelled pathetically when I gently nudged it. Our own little scardy cat had moved so fast when Triss entered the house that she had managed to co up between the sheets and the quilt without moving anything out of place.

Be good to yourself you are worth the effort

There are more books in you than one, Meg. I can't wait to read them. Love that story, too!

Hawker, nice to see you AND the rest of you, too!

I have a huge sigh of relief and some good news.

We met with the pulmonologist, today. She says she is happy with how I am doing, now we are back on track with certain meds, and explained why cardiologists and pulmonologists never look at echocardiograms in the same way and don't have much to do with one other because of their differences.

Anyway, what had happened was the cardio read the echo, said everything was worse, no surgical options left, etc. scaring us half to death, literally. In between all of this was the new alternative pain med which we are still not done trying different combos of to get it just right, if possible, and weight gain from the lack of meds for a couple of weeks (another experiment), and the iv iron infusions plus my first ever (and I hope last!) migraine, and a diagnosis of fibromyalgia. I am glad the past few weeks or so are over!

I've been so scared, sleepless, tired, overwhelmed, etc. This one really knocked me for a loop. The way the cardio sounded, I felt terminal, up close and personal.

Of most concern, is the pulmonary hypertension, but as long as i continue to keep my O2 sats above 90% AND remain 100% compliant in using my bi-pap machine at night, the doc is NOT concerned about the ph and doesn't need to see me for 6 months!

Note to self: so, now you have three docs, a therapist, and a healer telling you they believe you are doing well and have no need to be so scared. Are you listening? Floating?:-)

I know one thing, I am THANKFULL to all of you for your help. I know I still have a lot of challenges, probably always will, but I can face them when I know of the wonderful love and support I receive right here on Mudcat. Thank you all so very much!

Do these doctors ever talk to each other? That might help them sort it out and put a stopper in the one who scared you so much!

I'm glad to read that the doctor today thinks you're coming along. Time to sling the O2 cannula over your shoulder, pull yourself up by the bootstraps, and get yourself moving again. :)

Kat, after your nap, check into acupuncture for the fibromyalgia. It worked wonders for my friend Kathy, to the point where she is symptom-free these days.

My wife has found that being punctured a bit helps her get to sleep sometimes.

Hang in there, Kat; the docs were pretty much assuming my wife was gonna die, and she may be transferred to a rehab setting as soon as tomorrow.

I will, ranger1. I like acupuncture and there is a DO who specialises in alternative treatments for Fibroetc. down valley.

Dean, I sure am!*bg*

It has been a better day, folks. Still fatigued (neighbours actually yelled at each other and woke up both at 1a. I didn't get back to sleep until about 330a), but able to stay up and do more mental work on the computer, etc. than I have been able to in weeks.

Thanks, again, for all of your help. I love you folks!

Sorry 'bout the neighbors. I have some like that. They are only a problem when my windows are open on hot days and evenings, especially on weekends, like this one. Sometimes I want to shout, "Shut up! Don't you know we can hear you?" but I don't.

Ah, it's okay, CL. They are usually quite considerate...always shut their dogs up when they start yapping and are generally friendly. If it happens again I shall speak to them from the bedroom window or mention it the next day. Thanks, though.

The oomphing is working, folks! Thank you! The iron infusion went well, yesterday. Today, I was able to walk around the pet store, pushing a cart instead of riding in a wheelchair, though I did ride in one at Goodwill where we went shopping. Altogether I was out with Rog about 3 hours and did okay. It is too darn hot here and I had to put my legs up when we got home as I had some swelling, but it's all getting better.

We'll see how next week goes with Morgan here in the afternoons...I hope I have enough energy to do a few things around the house with him. Still can't drive alone (can't turn the key or unhook the seat belt due to old tendinitis, plus I've lost muscle tone in my arms.)

Thank you, again!

Thanks, everyone,

kat

Thank you so much, Ann and Nigel. I just put an update in the fire thread. It is 103 farenheit with terribly drying winds.I am okay thanks to air conditioning and a swamp cooler, but the mood is still a tough go. I hurt some tendons in my fingers and would like the pain to go away. It's very wearing, not just for me, but my Rog,too. My therapist reminded me behaviour follows our thoughts. i am trying to fire enough cylinders to *see* myself driving, again and dusting our household clutter. Tall order at the moment.

Thank you all.

Thanks, folks. Really, where we are, is no danger whatsoever from wildfires; a stupid neighbour setting weeds on fire or lighting fireworks in violation of a ban on them is much more likely. It's just so sad all over to think of the critters, wild and domestic, etc.

Kat, I know it's hot now, but I wonder if you can make it feel less in control if you did something like a back yard picnic breakfast with Morgan. One of those early in the morning affairs where the sun hasn't heated the day beyond comfort; a little summer ceremony when he can cook the French toast and you can slice the fruit and you can enjoy nice part of the day. I have to say that the mornings I get up early enough to walk the dogs are the ones we all enjoy most. They're happy and frisky and hungry - probably just like Morgan!

Or something along those lines. It really does help your spirits when you can enjoy the nice times like that.

From: Megan L

One day the weather was driech grey and damp the sort of weather that drags the spirit down. Giving myself a shake I decided to head down into the town. I stopped by the pier to watch the boat longingly, much as I love my island when you are feeling down the boat represents escape.

A mother and her little girl wandered away from the other people standing near the boat. Both were crying the woman was trying to hide her tears but the child looked like her heart was breaking. Her mother sniffed away her tears explaining her husband was leaving the island to try and find work. I lifted the little girl to sit on the rail as I held her safe then we both waved at the boat as it drew away from the pier.

As I looked down at the water I spotted a shoal of tiny fish. We watched them dart around the water occasionally one would swim of alone for a few moments then swim back to the shoal. It is amazing the daft little stories that spring into your mind when trying to divert a child from tears.

One small group appeared to be following one particular fish and those became a class going out on a trip round the harbour with their teacher with all the naughtiness a primary school outing can muster. As we worked through all the little fishes giving them names and jobs along with lots of silly voices the tears dried and little gurgles of laughter filled the air.

When we parted I felt refreshed and greeted the next person I spoke to with a smile. Sometimes it is the effort we put into making life better for others that improves our own.

Go on lass make lots of happy memories with Morgan even if it is spreading a blanket on the lounge floor and having a picnic on a rainy or to sunny day.

Kat, you mentioned earlier about the danger to the the wild animals. Has that situation eased any? Ann & I are more than relieved to know that you are safe. The news coverage in the UK has 'dropped off the front page', so we're not getting much useful info. now.

Heya, everyone. Just wanted to let you know I will mostly unavailable until after the 20th. Going to give my grandson a last week of fun, I hope, before school starts. Also, working on getting my hands healed up...the tendinitis has been exacerbated by fibromyalgia which flared up, I think, because I drove the car for the first time in a year, last week. The heat has also been brutal; I simply cannot go out in it as it is life-threatening.

I really AM doing better...just have to make it through the last of the heat and get the kid launched into third grade.:-) Lost 13 lbs since end of May.

Thanks for all of your help.
