Btw, I had posted question #4 about that astrology thread that Daylia posted heavily to {its name is something like "Zodiac signs do you believe?"}

The answer I was thinking of was "autolycus" .

134. Which Catter cooks extinct wildlife? [CRN]

That would be MMario, who grills aurochs in the Tavern.

135. Which Catter has a new baby on the way? [CRN]

I believe Max has that privilege.

136. With which mudcatter(s) does a certain, disreputable hound with strong affiliations to this site reside?[CRN]

The duckdog Gluon resides in the interstices among quanta touching the hearts and minds of the MOABites.

#38 - Chazkratz, known to us oldtimers as BSeed.

Couple of errors, Azizi.

#93 - I answered that one here

#132 - this has not been answered correctly. Madlion does not have the original spud. She has one of my beanbag spuds, but this is not the original. That is in the possession of another Mudcatter, as I intimated in a post above.

Keep up the good work. I love this thread.

Who or what is a duckdog?

A duckdog is a cross between a duck and a dog. The duckdog with whom most* Mudcatters are familiar is named Gluon. Gluon is a cross between a Mallard duck and an Airedale dog, which makes him a Mallairedale. Gluon has a one-word vocabulary, that one word being a cross between a quack and a bark, usually written as

QUARK!!!

However, Gluon is able to use subtle variances in tone and emphasis to communicate a universe of ideas using that single word. His posts are usually followed by a translation, as in:

QUARK!!!

(Translation: If you think tooth decay is a problem, just wait until you've experienced a bout or two of proton decay!)

Being both a duckdog and a subatomic particle at the same time and, therefore, able to manifest himself as either a particle or a wave, Gluon is not subject to many of the "laws" that govern normal states of being. We humans may not be able to know Gluon's location and velocity both at the same time, but Gluon always knows right where he is and precisely how fast he's going.

*"Most" is a relative term. In this instance it means more like "seven or eight".

Non-game question: What's that Chinese saying about a challenge being an opportunity for growth or something like that?

Well, challenges and growth comes when you least expect it.

Thanks, folks, for "keepin it real".*

* "keepin it real" here means "keeping this game good fun & educational".

****

I'll put the corrections noted along with the new correct responses and any new questions in the next updated list.

[And since this is a non-game post, I can sign my name to this post if I wanna, and I wanna].

Positive vibrations!

Azizi

ugh.. My english teachers would have a hissy fits over my typos/gramatical errors...

Let me rephrase that at least that one sentence:

"Well, challenges and growth come when you least expect them".

****

And since I'm here, here's a couple of new questions:

What Mudcatter is a ruler of a library in the hinterlands of the USA?

and

What Mudcatter has a name which pays homage to an animal that is highly regarded by ancient Europeans and Native Americans as well?

umm, that should be 'which' Mudcatter instead of 'what' since 'what' isn't used for people, right?

****

Okay..here's two more questions:

Which Mudcatter uses one letter for his name & usually responds to music queries or makes his own queries about information pertaining to specific folk songs?

Which Mudcatter who lives in the land down under has a reference to that in her Mudcat name?

The answer to question 108 must be Skipjack K8 (aka The Lord of Lard and Animal Oils and Fats) and who is busy magnating such products as we post.

Question: Which Mudcatter did Isaac McKittery swim the oceans to be with for the chance of a houl' only to be thwarted by an ice-cream man?

P.S. Am I on the right track now Azizi...? Or do I still have to do penance O Mighty One? (;>)

That would probably be Q.

Which Mudcatter lives near the bithplace of Stephen Foster?

Well, Kim C knows (and does a marvelous job of performing) a lot of his songs, and I think she lives in the South--?

Which catter owns a harpoon?

Would that be Skarpi perhaps? Or possibly Alaska Mike?

Whew...getting to be way too early in the morning to think. But here's one more question:

Who is the 'Catter who always has at least a half-page of explanation on nearly any technical question--and usually has the correct answer?

Jimmy, if I remember correctly, the meeting you refer to happened a few seconds before I first met the two of you on the very same bridge :-). It was a few yards up the canal from where I got a soaking the following day when the tow path collapsed beneath me!.

Allan C being the Virginian in quiestion I believe.

Lin in Kansas,

Your response to the Mudcatter with the one letter name is correct.

However, Mo the caller gave the correct answer for "the Mudcatter who lives less than 5 minutes [drive] from Stephen Foster's home".
That's little ole me and that rhymes with Z and ...whatever [I haven't figured out the rest of that song and I've even drawn a blank where the heck that ditty comes from...

Anyway, few people in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and elsewhere know that Stephen Foster, composer of numerous songs including Camptown Races, and My Ole Kentucky Home lived in Pittsburgh. There is even some dispute if Foster ever traveled to the Southern part of the USA.

I had mentioned that tidbit of information on a thread a while ago, and also mentioned it on this current thread that was started by another Pittsburgh area Catter: thread.cfm?threadid=92508&messages=11

Redsnapper, the traveler is the best judge of whether he or she is on the right track.

But I have to tell you, I like the Mighty One reference. And while on one level "The Great & Mighty Azz" is complimentary, I prefer the "Great & Mighty Z".

****

I can't decide whether I like the Kung Fu Grasshopper allusions, or the Wizard of Oz ones.

Hey, this is the folk process at work. Mix & match! The Redsnapper meets the Great & Mighty Z!!".

So Redsnapper,

keep on keepin on. It's your thing. Do what you wanna do.

Name at least two 'Catters (besides myself[Rapaire]) who can play trumpet, the instrument of the angels?

BARKY is one,

Who is the Mudcatter you shouldn't approach with a sword (unless you really know what to do with it)
Rapaire is another answer

and I can't find the original question - but Rapaire would also be the mudcatter librarian in the hinterlands of the US.

And he is a founding partner in LFPS, and he came up with the idea of a logo, which was further designed by a Mudcatter. The bonus question for the Amos' original question is; Who is the Mudcatter who designed the LFPS logo?

BTW, a hint to the original question is: He has a mustachio designed for a 7 foot tall cowboy. Unfortunately it is attached to a 5 foot body. The good news is that he also has the heart of a lion in that body.
