I THOUGHT I'D FIND YOU ALL IN HERE!
Is Catspaw waving his "Dried Dork Shaker" at you Jeri?

Oh Pat, I guess I forgot to tell you about the curse on it. Whatever you do Capt. Bob, Mick, Kat, Susan, Jer, don't let him get close to you with that thing. The only way to break the curse of "Rasputin's Shaker" (that's it's real name, so I don't have to see him mis-spell maracca anymore) Oh where was I ...oh yes, once you've seen it or heard about it, the only way to break the curse is to sleep with it's current owner! See, over the years, well...I just got plumb warn out!

Rick (not cursed anymore)

Aw, Mick, darlin', you'll never convince me of the tastiness o the vile black stuff, Roman collar or no! Tho I am LOL at the thought of that cartoon!

Jeri, I know the fudge was great, but Susan's idea with the coconut would be a lot easier to wash off! Where's LeeJ? And, who was delivering stuff for the pool...MMario?

Nice rattly sound there, 'Spaw. Sleep tight....and good first day at school for the boyz and all. Oh, and you can just forget about that curse thing Fielding mentioned! Nothing compels ME, except well...let me see the size of your hands,there....tch! Have you heard about the Mudcat Fertility Rites, lately???

Another round fer us all!

Er, Rick...Catspaw's the owner, and you got over the curse? Nah, never mind.

Don't worry, I've always been wary of men who offer to let me play their 'shakers.' We probably won't have much to worry about anyway - it looks like Koko's presently got ahold of it. Catspaw, just say you're sorry and buy her a banana daquiri!

Just when I lost the jello delivery job, you all come back. However, all is not lost, my group at the Neil Young Center (Elvis, Invisible Eddie and Hiroshi) have started making our own batch in handicraft sessions. No gelatin, only kelp-derived product. The first batch is lime and tequila flavour so... enjoy.
Sorry we've had to use a handcart, they won't let us use the Center's padded van.
What the ***** was that that just missed me? Possum darts yet!
No, thanks, I don't need my ears pierced.
Who's dropped some money on the floor? I'll just bend down to...AAAARGH!
Who shouted "bullseye" ?NOT funny

I had a little jaunt to Reno to take care of some bidness, y'know. But I'm back, and I'm whippin' up a pitcher of Claymore Mines- that's Ale-8-one and Everclear for the unenlightened. I've installed seat belts on the bar stools for any who want to partake.

Hi guys! Just got back from 10 days in Ireland and not one drop of Guiness! it's just not for me! To paraphrase one of their advert's "Guinless is good for you!". Found a nice Irish mead though.

I missed popping in here and I'm well behind on Gossip. Sorry for your loss Doug, remember the good times- no one can take away memories.

I think I would like a mead and an Irish Coffee please landlord and maybe some nuts to go with.

let,s see if I can remember a song to murder, maybe Ellen Vannen perhaps!

You can't believe anything that Roger tells you, we've no Elvis, Eddie or Hiroshi here, and he doesn't use a zimmer. We're increasing his medication (you should see what he's been getting up to in the kitchem, jello, coconut pie!) so don't expect to see him till at least Wednesday.
I'm not sure he should be drinking at all with his personality problem. (He should get one!)

I missed out on Lime & Tequila? Shoot! Not to keen on the banana.

Say! Somebody DID frame the "Nursery Rhyme" thread....but that's the first time I've ever seen a frame that was 8 inches wide and almost 16 feet long! intersting how it bends at the bottem and continues out across the dance floor. That's not going to make the dancing any easier!

Got a new tape recorder last night, the old one decided that it was going to record the sound of the tape turning louder then anything else....makes it kinda hard to hear the music...

Before you you go Hugo.....uh,...er, ...Dr. Quackenbush....We've got another of our compatriots in need of treatment. Nice fellow, environmentalist....seems to have gone over the edge. He is now dressing up herons to look like Waylon Jennings.....No Shit Doc....He gives them little cowboy hats, vests, boots, and a Telecaster or a Guild if they want, then plunks them back down in the marsh. Got a tiple for him right here if you've got a room....Yeah, that's OK....put him next to Zim...........thanks Doc.

Hey Beebs, get me a coffee with a splash of rum.......big splash...........All the kids are in school today so it's time I get my Fall routine going.............Sounds like your job at school may be jeopardized by your association with possum blowers, wacky delivery men, Jello wrestlers, hokey pokey dancers, heron dressers, and all those tiple players from the "Neil Young Center fo the Terminally Screwed."...........Not to mention Duane's recent arrest for "perverted acts with a telescope"..............Is he back from the Center yet?........Peter T. and Zimmy are both checking in today..............Got anymore Bearclaws?........Damn they were GREAT!!!...........Whaddaya' mean?.......Cleigh ate them???.....What a pisser........well just the coffee I guess...........

y'know, it seems people on the 'Cat have more interesting wildlife living around their places then I do....

'Spaw has a 'possum who travels and communicates on the web; there are herons out there dressing as Waylon Jennings,(none of the Blue Herons around MY pond have ever done that!) and all I got around my place are a bunch of gold fish and frogs that can't tell spring from fall and a couple of horses that think they are guard dogs. The dog is too busy shedding to do anything, and the cats are being....well, cats.

And the stupid geese fly east and west instead of north and south!

coffee...I need coffee...

Thanks Doug, good to be back! No pubs! too busy "doing" museum, but did have a few very good camp fires, a couple indoors even, I managed to share in some wonderful traditional Irish music along with modern songs from all around, and a few traditional songs from elsewhere as well.

While I,m here I think a glass or two of white wine please landlord, and a toast to all here, "to good company,"

Think I will find a cat to sit on my lap, give it a nice gentle stroke, and relax in this fine atmosphere. It is great to listen to music in pleasant surroundings, any suggestions anyone!

MMario: what are Taydo Snacks??? And....I agree, the thought for the day was intense and, as ever, really important.

Feeling a little under, today, maybe some sort of hot toddy, actually just herbal tea sounds really good. Do we have any really good ceramic teapots in this place? I'd like to smell some mint or chamomile tea steeping and cup my hands around the pot; such a simple thing can bring such comfort of association and healing. Sorry....don't mean to get all maudlin.

The bartender swabs the bar top one more time, surveying the clientele. "Yep," he says," this used to be the spot. They were all here: Fielding, Spaw, Art. Hell, Big Mick swam in Guiness jello in that very spot where you're standing." He smiles wistfully. "Now most nights it's just me and the beatnick spooks over in the corner. Oh, sure, they still stop in.. usually for a coffee nowadays. But all the hard-drinking patrons have headed off to other threads. You'll find em talking about Woody, or stupid questions, or who discovered Iceland...." He begins to stack the wooden chairs upside down on the tables. "Eight threads, though. Quite a mile stone." He turns the "OPEN" sign around. The glow of the neon Mudcat Tavern sign makes a pool of blue light on the old wooden floor.

"I guess it's enough to know that it will always be here, a place where the Mudcatter's soul can find kinship and sustenance, a quiet port in stormy seas." The bartender slides the brass key slowly from the ring, and slides it across the bar." Here," he says, "you lock up after you finish your drink. I'm going to walk home." Humming a tune that sounds like The Streets of Laredo , the bartender closes the door behind him and fades into the darkness of Tiple Street.

Geeze! Ain't nobody behind the bar? I just learned from DR. Rick Fielding that I may have caught acousticitis which is a forerunner of becoming a acoustiholic. I thought maybe a jugger of Bushmills would help me ward it off. Alright, I'll go back behind the bar and pour it myself. While I'm there, anybody else want anything?

Ok, Ok. Everyone make way. We've got a delivery here for the Smoothie Pit. Gallons and gallons of bananas, strawberries, cherries (!), and watermelon all whirrred up with a bit of ice. A refreshing replacement for that goopy ol', tired ol' Jello pit. And not a calorie to show for it if you choose to lick it off a compatriot. Kat, does that make you happy? AND -- a watermelon seed-spitting contest when we finally get to the bottom of the pit! A perfect end to a perfect summer!

I suppose one could lose the outer layer of skin on one's tongue should one lick fast enough to lose ten pounds in a week, es so? I guess I'll just have to take up jogging. I guess I could go on a solid diet of jello, but after everbody has been swimming in it, I don't know. If the velcro wall was back up Big Mick could throw me up against it, but then it would be him getting the exercise instead of me!

I guess I'll just have to think on it. Since I am now on the other side of the bar, bbc, would you draw me a Black and Tan? I say bbc, because you've spent enough time getting back to the old school routine. Time to get back to important things ... like pouring!
