Subject: RE: Tribulation/ Blessings Maeve & Truelove-off 4 abit From: SINSULL Date: 02 May 10 - 07:31 PM The trailor really is lovely and roomy. Maeve's little touches have made it a home. The amount of pure physical work done on their property is astounding. Gardens where there used to be forest, fruit trees everywhere, and birds and bees can't keep away. And work continues on the excavation of the old house. Thank you for the welcome and the tour, my friends. I enjoyed every minute. Mary |

Subject: RE: Tribulation/ Blessings Maeve & Truelove-off 4 abit From: Stilly River Sage Date: 03 May 10 - 06:32 PM Thanks for the reports, Jacqui and Mary! maeve, were there any pink flamingos in evidence after they left? SRS |
Subject: RE: Tribulation/ Blessings Maeve & Truelove-off 4 abit From: maeve Date: 03 May 10 - 06:50 PM They left no flamingos, tiny nuns, or singing fish; only an afghan, friendship, and laughter, and lots of bottled water! Thanks for a great visit, ladies. |
Subject: RE: Tribulation/ Blessings Maeve & Truelove-off 4 abit From: SINSULL Date: 03 May 10 - 07:38 PM Everyone thinks that Maeve is such a sensible, gentle soul. Her eyes turned to flint when I suggested at the last house concert that I might re-gift her new home with some "pieces". No way I was going to cross her. LOL No nuns or flamingoes or singing dancing menageries. I kept thinking of the Twilight Zone episode where the angry little boy "wished people into the corn field" and they were never seen again. Maeve had that look. |

Subject: RE: Tribulation/ Blessings Maeve & Truelove-off 4 abit From: maeve Date: 05 May 10 - 10:18 AM Ranger1 helped me take of a couple of tasks I couldn't get to last year with my broken arm. We pulled out the old poultry fencing from a discontinued chicken yard and set up a basic run for the bantams (for when they come home). Next we pulled out enough of the pernicious witch grass covering the compost pile to let me fill a utility cart with good stuff which I later used to pot up most of the plant stand bound shrubs and perennials from Fedco. Thank you for a helpful and enjoyable visit, Tami. You'll have to return so I can get a picture...we worked and chatted but I forgot to snap a photo. maeve |
Subject: RE: Tribulation/ Blessings Maeve & Truelove-off 4 abit From: Stilly River Sage Date: 05 May 10 - 10:42 AM Every year I have a new source of compost for the garden, one that I built up a couple of years before and let work on it's own. And every year it always seems like such a gift to myself to have that great material to spread around my garden. It's like a note to your future gardening self. :) SRS |

Subject: RE: Tribulation/ Blessings Maeve & Truelove-off 4 abit From: maeve Date: 08 Jun 10 - 11:29 AM Hello from the library. The gardens are full of weeds (perennial beds) and mature and baby veggies. We have basic telephone service. Sleep is elusive and yes, Sins, the Canadian wildfire smoke was disturbing. We haven't heard any updates, and are hoping our Canadian neighbors and friends are safe and well, and that the fires are all under control or completely out. We've been working on geting things settled in the camper, getting things cleared out of the apartment, and planting 'potting up trees, seeds, and perennials for the farm stand. Our local helpers for the fire clean-up have things of their own to which they must tend, so no progress on the clean-up. It's too dangerous for me to work alone in the ruin, and Truelove is, of course, working long hours at work. Thanks for remembering us. Warm regards to friends here, maeve |
